Because this life here on earth is temporary. When you die you will spend eternal life in Heaven.
Jesus said "I am going to prepare a place for you", meaning He died and went to Heaven and is there waiting for us.

i in my opinion believe that when we die we go away our actual body in the back of and who we fairly are, no matter if you call it your soul, spirit, different self etc. maintains on. This concept has were given not something to do with what Jesus suggested or did not say. it really is in accordance to investigations, reading, questioning and listening over many years. I base dissimilar my existence on what Jesus tried to coach us, yet there back I also take be conscious on different great prophets and others like Gandhi, mom Teresa etc. If I depending my beliefs on only one way of questioning, i'd not be able to say it really is what i believe, because I really have not been comparing it with everyone else's teachings. In different words I really have an open thoughts and could proceed to have one - thank goodness!

I am not Christian but I will answer as I have heard. People die but their spirit doesn't. The body dies but the soul lives on. It is also a way to test others faith. If a close friend or relative dies, will you stay faithful to your God?

Hugs

Just as all things are born, qll things must die, this is the way it is faith or no faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus himself died. He was flesh and bones just like the rest of us.

True death is eternal seperation from God... for those of The True Christian Faith that will not happen... mortal flesh is not what a Christian is concerned with... my mortal shell is not me... I am concerned for the process of ending my tie to this flesh... I am not concerned for my life. I have God's promise of my Salvation

if some one is one hundred
we all ask how did ''you'' do it
in no time the thousands of eternals would convert others to god by miricles
even jesus didnt want to go there
we die when our life sentance is up
its like getting out of prison
then they know if you chose to do good or evil
the KNOW for sure your good or bad
so do you
we all follow this narrow thread of life into heaven or hell

We all must physically die once. And we all will exist in eternity. Some will suffer spiritual death. Which is why:
To be born once is to die twice
To be born twice is to die once

eternal life can only be gained thru deep meditation and selfless service to the needy ones, being kind to everybody--mere faith does't bear this fruit till one digs in deeply, just like extraction of crude from the rigs.
