In comparison, in technologically advanced nations, religions grow, change, adapt, and spread to other countries.

In ancient history, religions in China and India spreaded throughout Asia. Today, Christian churches can be found all over the world. Why can't atheists view religions as a part of (and an important part of ) social science, just like philosophy.

Why is it that when one person speaks of someone dying for their Religion, it means that Religion is true. Yet evidence of other people dying for their Religion isn't counted towards how truthful that Religion is... it simply means that other person is deceived or a liar?

Are people's ego's really that big to think that they can make these types of Double Standards stick and that everyone will simply fall in line with it?

If you encountered an advanced species. They showed you how to use your mind, and had wonderful technology far beyond our own. They also give you a big book with the truth in it. This book describes the history of earth from its creation and an accurate description about what God is. This God turns out to be nothing like any of the religious descriptions on planet earth. Mans history wasn't even close to what really happened. What would you do?

Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Who here has actually read the entire Book of Mormon? For those of you who have actually read it, what are your thoughts on it? I have read it and believe it to be divinely inspired. Please, no comments on how Mormonism is a cult or how false the church is. I don't disrespect your beliefs so please don't disrespect mine.

I've been reading bible verses and I've come across many where it says homosexuality is an abomination. I've also read scriptures saying that those who support it is just as bad as the homosexual person. Though, there are people who are calling themselves Christians and do exactly what is said above. I'm not the one to judge, but I've always wondered how Gay Christians approach these things in the Bible.

Oh and to set the record straight, I believe that God loves all people, but hate sin. And I follow God's intentions so I love all people but hat the sin.

thanx

...then why did 12 nobodies go and spread the biggest lie ever? What did they get out of it? They never got fame or greatness in the normal sense. Close to all of them were tortured bruttally by the Romans. And then why did the thousands upon thousands submit to the brutal tortures prepared for them? Why didn't they all just say, "Sorry, my mistake, guess I was wrong. "Under the emperor Decius many persecutions arose against the name of Christ, and there was such a slaughter of believers that they could not be numbered." Can you give me a real possible answer that is serious. (They weren't all "crazy", that isn't even trying. This isn't made up, because Roman documents and different things not written by Christians confirm this. Hey, just look at the Colleseum.)

Luke 12

4"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies[a]? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

[[ Warning: The following is a rant ]]

I'm sick and tired of everyone pointing fingers. "Atheists, where in the Bible did God say life is fair?" "Can you prove god exists?" "How many Satanists kill people a year?" "Why are you on this section if you're not Christian?" "It's either you're a believer in God, or you're not. There's no other version."

Our lives are so frickin' miniscule, do we REALLY have the time to try to piss off others? I understand the whole "It's important to question society" thing! I really do! But dear Gods, take a break sometimes!

And why are you/we all on this darn site anyway!? I mean, learning's important, yeah, but when was the last time you chilled with one of your friends just having a conversation, or played with your kids, or visited your family?

The religion debate needs to be put on pause for a bit, people, please, seriously. Just live for a while. Don't point fingers. Acknowledge people are people, and they're entitled to their opinions, --
