Because R&S deals with topics that are closest to people's hearts. There is nothing more precious than faith, and nothing more devastating than living without it.
At least, that is my opinion.

It is just like any other category with a couple exceptions. There are people here who are very passionate about this topic with many different views. These people can be deeply wounded by trolls. This is troll heaven. It is the same entertainment you get from pulling the wings off of flies. Also when teenagers decide they want to go explore all the world has to offer they try out their justification for sin here by trying to disprove the existence of GOD.

I don't know about all of that. I tend to get more answers on Polls and Surveys especially lately then on here in R&S. But that's been like that lately.

Because people are curious and they don't know where else they can ask questions and get answers about topics that might be slightly awkward to actually verbally ask someone.

People are insecure and want to validate their religious choices. That's why the Catholic Church gets the most bashing because it is the largest and most successful Christian religion.
