When "born again" Bush claimed "God told me to attack Iraq" in June 2003--Why wasn't this mental delusion examined??--Why was he allowed to again run for office??--Why was he re-elected??--Some other quotes--"I'mdriven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.' And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George go and end the tyranny in Iraq,' and I did."
The current President replied that his earthly father was "the wrong father to appeal to for advice ... there is a higher father that I appeal to".

How did Joseph know so much about the Arabian Peninsula?

If the gold plates never existed, how did Joseph get numerous witnesses to stand by their stories until their dying day, even when some of them later became angry with Joseph and left the Church?

How could Joseph have known about ancient cement technology in the first century B.C. in Mesoamerica?

Why does ancient Mesoamerican geography AND culture provide a plausible setting for the Book of Mormon?

How could Joseph Smith make up dozens of names in the Book of Mormon that would later be shown to be authentic ancient Semitic names?

Where did Joseph Smith get the idea of ancient scriptures written on metal plates?

How did Joseph Smith know about ancient practices regarding preservations of sacred texts?

Why do other ancient documents support the Book of Mormon's idea that the ancient Joseph prophesied of Moses and Aaron?

I can see how that would be annoying.

I just asked "will you be happy in heaven knowing someone you love didn't make it?", which pre-supposes the existence of heaven.

Now it is rather obvious the "best answer" is not "there is no heaven" or "there is no god", as neither of these answers address the premise: if there is a heaven, will you be happy there knowing someone you love didn't make it.

Now if the question were: "is there a heaven?" or "is there a god?", you've got an answer that's in contention. But is it so compulsively necessary to repeat the same answer to -every- religious question, whether it addresses the question or not?

A few days ago I complained about the christians doing something like this. Are you no better?

A tree well taken care of?
Your roots in living water?
Just dandy when the heat comes?
Not worried about drought?
Ever yeilding fruit?

Jer 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Jer 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

He is not human so what is he resting? And surely he knew he had finished his work so is permanently resting now anyway. Yet another example of the 'man made' bible. Any chance the christians can respond with bible verses that no one can decipher properly or perhaps the old favourite vague answers that could mean anything about anything?

Sorry of this offends, I'm actually curious on other's takes on it... Were I designing a being in my likeness, I'd at least put some effort out there not to use 85% Zebra fish parts... I'd certainly avoid using 99% Homo Habilis parts (Being that they were 4 foot tall and incapable of walking upright.) Any ideas why God would choose to intelligently design with the same genetic material if he could've made us any way he chose (as a part of omnipotence)?

I love those people in the cults and want to do what I can to make sure they know the truth before they go into eternity and try to cash their counterfeit salvation check.

The Bible says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," 2 Timothy 3:16

What about the book of Mormon, Catholic & The Orthodox book of Catechism, Islamic Koran, Shinto, Buddist, etc?

is it not true that easter comes from pagan roots?? with the pagan goddess ishtar (eshtar) and that easter used to worship. ishtar was the goddess of fertility, new life and goddess of spring and also claiming that the worship of Bel and Astarte was anciently introduced into Britain, and that the hot cross buns of Good Friday and dyed eggs of Easter Sunday figured in the Chaldean rites just as they allegedly do.

Correct me if im wrong but Joulupukki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joulupukki) aswell coming from finnish pagan roots is where santa claus's origins come from.

the funny thing is, is that these are all huge christian holidays but the ironic thing is in general christians believe all pagan religions to be evil when the very essense of christianity is pagan.

If you think He wasn't the Messiah and that He's only a prophet, do you believe in what He said? I mean if He's a prophet, surely you would listen to His words, which say that He was in fact the Messiah.
Please I only want answers from Jews. No immature answers, please.

why did god choose to reveal himself thousands of years ago to only a small group of hebrew men and before the printing press was invented?...this seems like a highly inefficient way for god to get his word out to mankind...what would be wrong with god simply talking to each and every person the way he talked to his prophets?

Pat Robertson who says he descended from blessed blood? (Winston Churchill, queen Elizabeth, etc) yada yada....was or is a dominion theology person and thinks that the Church has replaced Israel. That the Christians, namely him and other rich saved, educated people like him who believe in Jesus are supposed to force people to obey God or die, such as his asinine statement calling for Hugo Chavez's assassination and that God told him to run for president, then he loses? I personally am a premillenniumist. I believe in the physical return of Christ to earth to straighten out this mess down here himself. Not that the church should make the world do what the Christian right says....by force if need be, by bombing them, "taking them out" as Pat Robertson said to do to Chavez.
What do you think of this replacement theology and of the religious right? Please, serious answers. I really am interested in what you think.

Could the tiny human implantable chip calld the "Verichip" be the mark of the beast? I hear it is currently being pushed as a life saving device in the field of medicine for those who are presented to the emergency room in an unconscious state. Oh, and they want to put in in the elderly to prevent them from wandering. Have any of you ever googled it?

How can you have no judgments, no passions, no biases about life. I'd like to know how to be more open-minded and accepting of everything that goes wrong in my life, without judging anything or getting angry enough to change it. Please tell me how to sprinkle cool patience over the passion of my judgment so i can be relaxed, loving and boring like you. Thank you.

Sometimes i'll be just talking to my friends and they'll mention going to church. they'll ask me if i went and i'll say "no, i'm an atheist." they get sooo pissed. i know they love god and what not..but really, get ahold of yourself. where is the PROOF god exists? i'm sure you'll say "oh, he gave me life!!" well..where's the proof of THAT? oh wait, i know. "the bible says so." im very sure most of you will say "just have faith and an open mind." well, that's my point. that's the whole REASON i'm an atheist. one day i was thinking about the world and stuff..then i suddenly thought...wait a second. god can't exist. i mean, he exists in your minds, but not for real. the bible wasnt written by god [who supposedly "exists"], but probably some crazy mental guy who made all this crap up. i mean, please. and i absolutely HATE IT when people try to shove their religion down my throat. now thats just rude. go somewhere else and preach about life after death and jesus and god and blah blah blah.
