Yes just ask Him to forgive you of all your sins (meaning it is the hard part). Tell Him that you will do your best not to sin again (then do your best not to sin again but no one is perfect). Ask Jesus to come in to your life , also ask him to help you to do His will.(His will for us is always better then ours)
Try to talk to Jesus every day He is your new best friend now.
He love you & wants to hear from you :)
Pray from your heart, God would rather hear a prayer from your heart then any thing else
Then start reading your Bible. The new king james is a easy Bible to understand. I started with the new testament book of Mattew . Matthew is the first book of the new testament .
It is all ways good to know what Jesus taught. Next step try to live it.
A Good church can be a nice thing to be a part of I would recommend trying different ones to find the right one for you (note some times it can be hard to find the right church)
No you don't have to go to church to be saved but it can help you learn more about God a little faster & easier.
I recommend the Catholic church because before you can join they teach you all about their faith (plus if you don't agree you can always walk out of RCIA class )
Well hope this helps God bless you
If you have any more questions that I can help you find an answer to feel free to e-mail me

Actually the idea of accepting Jesus to get saved is only a generation or two old. It didnèt really exist when I became a Christian 60 years ago. The key according to the Bible to becoming a Chrstian is confession of the Jesus as your Lord, as stated in Romans 10:9-10. Accepting Him is not as important as Him accepting us. Today many Christians call this doctrine of accepting Jesus easy believism and many of us do not think that will make you a Christian.
Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
So can you hang on to your drinking etc? No because that is you being lord of your own life.

Not sure whether you're just being facetious or not, but it looks like you have plenty of contractual answers. Have fun picking out the formula that works for you, so that God will owe you salvation. Or you may want to look at it another way, maybe the Holy Spirit working in your heart, according to the will of God the Father who would have chosen YOU in Him from before the foundations of the world, opening your eyes to life in Him. When you realize that it's God's grace working within you, the rest is merely a "brethren, what shall we do?" of Acts 2:37, and Peter's answer is now an answer to you.

"And this is the way to have eternal life - to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth" (John 17:3). Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship, turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. "We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this way, no matter who we are or what we have done" (Romans 3:22). The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

The Bible doesn't mention gambling and it only says that a "drunkard" will not have a place in the Kingdom of God. It doesn't prohibit alcohol consumption. If you are interested in getting saved, then click on the Get Saved button @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ and may the Holy Spirit of God give you the gift of faith, in Jesus' name, amen.
Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

To be save is not a game it's accepting GOD as your personal savior believing that he died for our sin and that he gave his only begotten son. Once you truly accept him you will find your self not wanting to drink or gamble. You start looking at life differently. You no longer take it for granted you live each day for GOD and that's the best feeling in the world.

Instead of using mans or religious standards use Gods. Read the Word and find out for yourself. One is to "seek the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness. If you don't have repentance there is no salvation for you. You will be in company with many so called Christians and others that will be judged and cast into hell. This is serious and not to be taken lightly.

Do you honesly think accepting Jesus is going to get you into heaven. Define the word saved; to be free from harm. So when are we really saved definatly not here on earth. Truth is no one is truly saved Jew, Christian, or Muslim until we make into the gates of heaven. There can no harm reach us. So in order to be save meaning make it to heaven we all meaning THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE QURAN, AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW THE JEWSIH SCRIPTURES, AND THE CHRISTIANS AND THE SABIANS AND ANY WHO BELIEVE IN GOD AND THE LAST DAY (judgement day), AND WORK RIGHTOUSNESS, SHALL HAVE THEIR REWARD (heaven - the only place or way we can be saved) WITH THEIR LORD; ON THEM SHALL BE NO FEAR, NOR SHALL THEY GRIEVE.

There's this little thing called repentance. That means turning away from your sins. You know that they're sins. And when we're saved we become new creatures. We're called out of a life of sin into a life of righteousness.
Of course that doesn't mean we're experts in righteous living overnight. But we no longer want to sin.

You must repent through faith Jesus Christ and endure to the end.
Many "born agains" claim all you have to do is say a few words and then "wallah!"
That is a false teaching that takes one part of God's word and throws out the rest.
Have a good day! :)
