Is mark of the beast technology here?

Could the tiny human implantable chip calld the "Verichip" be the mark of the beast? I hear it is currently being pushed as a life saving device in the field of medicine for those who are presented to the emergency room in an unconscious state. Oh, and they want to put in in the elderly to prevent them from wandering. Have any of you ever googled it?

Yes I think the technology is here. They already are implanting chips in animals and in Alzheimer's patients, as you pointed out.

Did you ever see that Washington Mutual ad on TV? I saw it a couple of years ago. They staple a bar code to people's foreheads and then "scan" it when they come into the bank. It was meant as a joke, of course. When I saw that commercial, my jaw dropped to the floor.

We are seeing prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes.

It does not matter if it is the chip in animals or old people for wondering or the hospital, governmental officials because of terrorist or even children if kidnapped.
It does not matter if the excuse is because there is so much ID theft.

The technology is the entire system, chips, scanners, computers and the like & their ability to track & control.
It is the ability to suspend the buying, selling or holding of a job of anyone anywhere in the world, which has never been done before.

We are the first generation to truly qualify as that generation - but the technology alone would mean nothing if Israel were not back in the land.
All the signs together point to the fact that the time of the end (end of the age, not end of the world) is near.

The antichrist needs this system in place because he is not Omnicient, Omnipotent or Omnipresent, but he must give the appearance that he is.

I cannot believe that I am using this for an example, but have you ever seen the movie "Then Net".
That is the type of control that the antichrist will have in order to suspend an individual from pursuing the ability to make a living - to feed, clothe & house themselves or their family.

That has been for over a year. Last I looked it up they were still looking for people to willingly take it as test subjects. Have they moved beyond that stage yet? Last I heard it wasn't powerful enough yet to hold and update information as would be needed for it to fulfill the actual mark of the beast requirements, but that doesn't mean it's not an early version of it. Personally that's what I think it's going to be. If they dont use some sort of device, how could they possibly monitor what is bought and sold to whom?

I honestly think wearable technology will continue to be promoted long before any implants are. You can wear a micro-computer around your neck. Implanting stuff is messy, requires surgery, and could cause unforeseen complications. Tattoos and piercings are the Mark of the Beast.

Maybe not. I have posted this many times, but it's worth repeating.

What if the mark is not literal? How many people would actually take a mark seeing that we Christians have warned against it and published literature against it for a very long time?

If the mark was figurative, now that's a different story. Historically, the number 3 has been symbolic of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and the number 6 has been symbolic of man (body, soul and spirit indwelt by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Seen this way, the number of the beast, 666, stands for man making himself out to be God. In the Bible, the hand is often symbolic of works/deeds and the forehead is symbolic of the thought life. The mark of the beast or the number of his name therefore are those who by their deeds(hand) or thoughts (forehead) declare to the world that they are in charge of themselves. No God is going to tell them how to behave or think!

Seen in this light, most of the world ALREADY WEARS THE MARK, INCLUDING MANY SO CALLED CHRISTIANS!

There is not ONE anti-Christ, but many, and a careful reading of I John: III John will make this clear.

Nah, man, you should be studying encyclopedias instead of bibles. The mark of the beast is crap. You have to understand that religion opposes technological progress and it always has done. In the next decade or two, these chips will as common place as cell phones.

I havent heard that yet but if that is true, I think you are right. Actually, I think this technology was here when people started putting the chips in their animals to find them if they ran away. I don't know what those chips or technology is called.
