I can see how that would be annoying.
I just asked "will you be happy in heaven knowing someone you love didn't make it?", which pre-supposes the existence of heaven.
Now it is rather obvious the "best answer" is not "there is no heaven" or "there is no god", as neither of these answers address the premise: if there is a heaven, will you be happy there knowing someone you love didn't make it.
Now if the question were: "is there a heaven?" or "is there a god?", you've got an answer that's in contention. But is it so compulsively necessary to repeat the same answer to -every- religious question, whether it addresses the question or not?
A few days ago I complained about the christians doing something like this. Are you no better?

Actually, E, you're not one I had in mind. Your answer -did- address the question of happiness in heaven.
My thanks.

I can think of better ways to lead than by saying 'well, he did it first'.

do you feel the need to attack atheists and push your belief on everyone every time your gods existence is doubted? shouldn't your faith and belief be between you and your god only? everytime you're trying to push it on others are you not using it in vain by implying that yours is right and everything else is wrong? if that is the case give me undeniable and tangible proof

in heaven you will not be without someone you wish to be there. if you are going to heaven, you are there right now. if you are going to hell, then you are there right now. but losing your physical body is what changes. your body is your perception of the world. your ears can't hear every sound. your eyes can't see every color. but when you lose the physical body your soul is trapped in, you will expeirence everything that happens. so if you perceive the world as good and you are happy, this happy perception of the world will manifest into your conciousness that goes on eternally inside god. if you are sad and perceive god's beautiful world as bad, then this perception will manifest in your conciousness.
if the person you love is in your heart, they will be with you when god decides to release your soul from your body.. cuz they can be two places at once. they aren't bound by thier body. also remember this: there is no way that you can know for sure they did or didn't go to heaven.
and hey. let the athiests say what they please. they could use your help and to tell you the truth, christains are the biggest fight starting, annoyingly opinionated, and out spoken out of line people ther are.
like me. i believe in god, no matter what. athiest can say what they want, i'll fight to the death.

It's a rare day that I answer a religion-based question in such a way.
As a former Christian, I usually answer such questions from the asker's point of view, which probably leads some people to think that I'm not an atheist. The sincerity of the asker's question prompts how I will respond in my answer.

Don't like the truth eh? Typical for the religiously infected. Truth is kyrptonite to you people.
And yes I would be ecstatic knowing my loved ones didn't make it, as I won't either if you listen to the religious loons. I would be happy because no person in his right mind would want to be anywhere around the christer god figurehead. That clown is the most evil, psychotic petulant SOB to ever exist. (pretending the story is true here)

I don't ever make that statement. I'm an atheist, and I believe there is no god. To assume this to be a fact would be as ignorant as assuming that any religion is complete fact. Religion is, in the end, faith in something. For strong atheists, the faith is that there is no god. If anyone doubts this, simply look up the various definitions of faith, and you will see I am correct.

I understand what u mean. It gets rather annoying
1 Corinthians 1:18-23
I know very well foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God. As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy human wisdom and discard their most brilliant ideas." So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.

When Christians stop entering Wiccan threads just to say the person needs to find god and stop worshipping Satan, or any other thing as stupid, then Atheists will stop doing the same thing to Christian threads.
You get what you give.

Well I've often seen the same done in the opposite by believers, even when it hardly made sense to say it... So, I try not to worry about it.
