No, he was not a prophet either. If he had been the messiah, we would all be living together in peace on earth -- "...they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4) I don't know where you live, but I live in the U.S.A. and we don't even have peace here in my neighborhood!
If he was a prophet, exactly how many of his prophesies ever happened? None that I know of. The prophets included in the Bible had many of their prophesies actually happen. They would not have been included in the Bible had not their prophesies been proven. There is no 2000-year wait to prove prophesy!
I think that if he actually lived, that he was one of many rabbis preaching one of several versions of Judaism. In case you haven't noticed, Jews have never agreed with each other about much of anything -- including religion!
My question for you is why do you limit your knowledge to ONLY what Jesus was teaching. We have records in the Talmud of what all the other rabbis of the time were teaching. Many of them taught exactly the same thing Jesus taught, but much, much, MORE. Why do you deprive yourself of their wisdom? Why were Christians forbidden from reading the Talmud. Why did the Roman Catholic Church burn every Talmud they could find? Why did they burn the Jews in their synagogues along with the Talmud? Why has the church been so fearful of Jews? Why do your gospels teach such hatred for us?

We do not believe he was a prophet.
Some Jews believe he was a rabbi
Some Jews believe he was nothing to our religion, neither rabbi nor evil man
Some Jews believe he was an evil deceiver
Some Jews believe he didn't exist at all
No, we don't believe in what he said, because what he said was that the old covenant was "fulfilled." And that is very against our religion, along with many other things he said.

Oh, here is David the Liar again. David a not a Jew, he's a Christian missionary.
Jews do not believe in Jesus in any way. He's irrelevant to our religious beliefs. We don't study what he did, and we don't talk about him when we pray. He had nothing to do with our religion. Not a rabbi. Not a prophet. Listen to Lady Suri. She's about nailed it.

I am a Jew a true Jew-I believe Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah and the Messiah too. I am born and BarMizvah'd Jewish
the fact is if a person claims to be Jewish both by birth and Jewish by the Jewish Scriptures are rejects Moses and Isaiah they will reject the Jewish Messiah too-and on all 3 accounts not be Jewish by Jewish Scriptures.
Moses said there is no atonement for sins without the shedding of innocent blood-Leviticus 17:11
Jeremiah promised this new covenant "Not like the one made with Moses" to come Jeremiah 31:31 and following verses
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 teaching of him to suffer for our sins and one day to reign -which is soon to come - "He will be despised and rejected and lay down his life as a lamb and make atonement for our sins."
Messiah fulfilled this -in the articles of Jewish faith is the words "I believe in the comming of a Messiah"
If Jesus was not the Messiah and the temple is gone then God lied to Moses and we are left with no temple and no way of attonement for our sins-other than making up a new religion. All Jewish people had the high priest offer the blood sacrifice for them till Messiah Jesus fulfilled it and the temple was no longer needed.
thanks for the question and there are people that claim to be spiritually Scripturally Jewish including athiestic 'Soviet Jews too, but they are not-unless they believe Moses the prophets and the Jewish Messiah-pray their eyes will open and find the Messiah Jesus as their best friend-as I have too, many have -and all the writers of the New Testament were Messianic true Jews too.

I'm not a Jew, but I believe in what Jesus said as a teacher. I still deny he was a messiah. Just because the Bible says he said something, doesn't mean he actually did say it. That doesn't mean he is a liar, it just means that what was written about him is wrong.

Since Jews don't believe the stories of jesus, they don't believe in him. Jews either believe he was a good teacher, a myth, a nutter, or a heretic.

********News Alert *********
Jews do not believe Jesus was even a Prophet.
They denied Jesus was the Messiah (one sent as a redeemer for the Jews).
They are still waiting for THEIR Messiah who will in fact be the False Messiah (Antichrist) who will rule from Israel.
