I've been reading bible verses and I've come across many where it says homosexuality is an abomination. I've also read scriptures saying that those who support it is just as bad as the homosexual person. Though, there are people who are calling themselves Christians and do exactly what is said above. I'm not the one to judge, but I've always wondered how Gay Christians approach these things in the Bible.

Oh and to set the record straight, I believe that God loves all people, but hate sin. And I follow God's intentions so I love all people but hat the sin.

thanx

Absolutely not! It is easy as 123. If you are a "True Christian" and believe god's word is true then you should now the answer to your question! You can not be a christian and practice homosexuality. God speaks against this in the bible. He created MAN & WOMAN not MAN & MAN. I do feel it is a sin and people who calls themself a so called christian and are gay are going straight to hell. It is sad it turely is.

Being homosexual and a Christian is virtually agains t the Bible, but if you think of it logically, it's not. I know in Leviticus it says it's bad, but in other places like in the gospels, it says that there are two things humans should do. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as thyself. So what this says logically is that if you are against homosexuality, and/or hate gays/lesbians, you technically hate ur neighbors and broke God's commandment.

I can tell you the Catholic view point.

It has not been determined the underlying process of coming to one's sexual preferences. Right now - it is assumed that it is more biological then actual choice in the church. Hence you are born that way - and have no control over that part of your life.

What this means for you though - is not that you can act on desire. You are called to a celibate life. You are only an abomination if you act on the desires.

Hope that helps some. Remember - some Protestants believe that you are sinning just be believing you are a homosexual and that you can be 'cured'. Personally, I am not sure how valid that is - or if one can change their sexual preferences through therapy. But I do believe it is possible through God. I have a friend who was bi - had multiple same sex partnerships (perferred them actually) but found God. She is now very happy married to her long time husband. It can happen.

I think the first thing to do is to understand what was originally translated as "homosexual". The record on this is ambiguous at best. Many places where this word appears (and it's not in all translations) originally meant such things as effeminae or temple prostitute.

True there is that verse that say "Man shall not lie with man as with woman", but this too may have meanings not fully understood by modern culture. We tend to read things with eyes that are colored by our culture. May it not mean that a man who sleeps with a man shouldn't treat him as he would a woman? And how did men treat women thousands of years ago? They were considered chattel; property. Might not the offense have been to treat another man as such?

The crime in Sodom... what exactly was it? Modern preachers will tell you that it was homosexuality. These seem to ignore the crime of rape. Does this mean that rape is ok? Does this mean that homosexuality is a crime and that it is worse than rape? That simply doesn't make sense to me. Personally, I believe the real crime was rape.

In any event, get yourself a good concordance; I recommend Strongs Exhaustive Concordance. Then look up the words that you find condemnation in. Find out what the original writers were actually saying. Make up your own mind.

Then again, I'm not a Christian, so what would I know?

technically, they still are, but it is referred to as "living in carnality". there's the fence that separates good and evil, you can jump over the fence and land on the solid ground, or you can just limp over and fall into the ditch. the ditch is where carnal christians are.

the carnal christian is the person who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, yet continues in sin, even to the extent of interpretting the Bible for themselves.

however, this sin is no worse than any other. the liar, the drunkard, the idolatrer are all guilty of the same carnality.

homosexuality is condemned in Leviticus, Romans, and 1 Corinthians. but of course, God loves all, but hates sin. the problem is that they're technically unrepentant. the thing is a carnal man often does not realize he is in the ditch, or he knows it, and pardons it.

God views things slightly differently than us. where as we see people as "oh, you sinner" yet we ought to see them as "you potential brother or sister", God sees a need for repentance and His different outlooks. Whereas we see a homosexual as a person who will always be like they are, God says "if believe it's wrong, you don't condone it, and don't practice it (sin), then you are righteous in my Book".

so the feelings don't make them a sinner. it's the practice, condoning and belief that it's okay that makes them a sinner.

Condemned? basically God knows that. incredibly good via whose words? You equate 'love' with a bootleg act. mutually as I have little question love can and generally does play a factor, for there must be something for sin to distort, sin isn't and can't be love. You cut back and deform the actual subject. returned nonetheless, we don't comprehend all the info. There are mitigating circumstances. per God to aid you're taking a bypass is named the sin of presumption nonetheless. An severe occasion of mitigating circumstances may be somebody mentally impaired lacking comprehension, or in all probability even awareness of in many situations illicit acts including masturbation. suited justice might additionally recommend accounting for the burden of respective crosses. additionally, what occurs on the 2nd of death? How approximately redemptive acts? Baptism of blood or the death of a martyr? What if the gay is incredibly sorry and fails at restraint, and dies in protection of the religion? enable us to not forget approximately, and that i think of human beings generally use the sins of others, genuine or in any different case, in a ineffective attempt to look 'good', to God and others, via assessment. Glass properties. all of us want mercy, and HIs call is Yeshua. We in simple terms don't comprehend who's condemned. we don't totally comprehend ourselves, or our motives, much less those of all people else. We might desire to, in some unspecified time interior the destiny, someway, interior the direction of how, grow to be suited. not 'good adequate' or 'incredibly effective' , yet actually suited. "Be suited, and sin not greater."

Depends on where you are going to church. In the rural south preachers will stand up and tell how God hates "gay homosexuals" Sounds like you have read the Bible more than most of the pastors around here and gleaned that God hates the sin...anyway hope that you live where people are not so narrowminded.
PS see why I became Atheist/Agnostic??

God must not be mocked. It is quite simple: God opposes the unclean act: "keep abstaining from the unclean thing". That which is degraded, degenerate, criminal violent are the things constantly highlighted in popular literature, plays, movies, TV and radio. The general thinking of the people as revealed by their daily conversation, employment and jokes is only bad all the time. The influence of such thinking does not help a Christian walk in the way that has God’s approval.

The lure of gambling is greed, pure and simple.

1 Corinthians 6: 9 - 11: What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom...

....And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 15:33: Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits. (When you associate with those who continue to rebel against God's teachings and his laws you become like them. This scripture does not lie. When you become friends with the one protesting God, you become as that one and are not a friend of God's---Do not be misled...)

God does not work around us, we work around his standards because he knows best. That's the short and narrow of it.

There is no such thing as a Gay Christian. And yes there are many who today teach differently; they are the same ones that teach that Jesus is love. Jesus loves but check out Revelation and see what he does to sinners.
