Without evil, how will you know what good is?

Without evil, you'd have no reason for the word good. The only thing that gives good its definition is having some alternative. Otherwise, you wouldn't need a word to define it.
It's like hot and cold - if the temperature were fixed all the time at a set temperature, both words would be meaningless. The words are used to distinguish between different states. If you eliminate all states but one, then you eliminate the need for the distinguishing words.

I have thought of that before. It would seem that the dark makes the Light seem more clear. But think of this. Good has to come before evil because evil is going against good. As a Christian, I believe and sincerely hope for the day when it is only good and evil is destroyed.

Get rid of all mankind and evil will no longer exist, neither will good. For man is needed to assign a value judgment on what ever action he sees as good or evil.

Yes, I believe good can exist without evil... Would we know it is "Good" without having evil to compare it to? No. We wouldn't understand.

i feel that without evil, there could be no god. if everything was good and there was no bad in the wold how could we appreciate what is good. we need evil to even out the world it would be too extreme to have all good or all evil.

Not on the physical plane or in the lower planes where duality must exist. (It's all about balance.) Only in the higher planes can good exist without evil.
