each of the religious/spiritual groups seperately that way we wouldn't have to deal with just a big argument all the time? Yes, yes I know while some answers are enlightening, the major part are just rude and senseless...who agrees? Who doesn't and why? thanks

No. There'll still be arguing, except on more sections.

Without conflict, there will be no experiences.

There's already enough separation as it is and this section is meant for everybody. So why separate people from each other even more then we already are separated? Besides nobody will stay in their particular section for long anyway. It's not as if anybody is forcing you or me or anybody else for that matter to come to this section. There are many different parts to Yahoo Answers that you and everybody else can go to. There are troublemakers in all groups. The best way to deal with certain people would be to simply ignore their questions and answer the questions that are serious and respectful. That's all anybody has to do is pick and choose which questions to answer and which ones to ignore. It's not that difficult really. Either that or whoever doesn't like this section can simply stop coming to this section and go to other parts of Yahoo Answers.

Yes, it might work, but I can tell you that it might also get really boring for some. The ones who are seeking true answers to questions about a certain religion will benefit alot, but what what if someone is being deceived by a religion or cult? The believers will be in their own section and the person seeking an answer about if a certain religion is a cult will be in that certain religion section and not get answers and opinions from everyone and may never get the truth. Cults don't usually tell the whole truth about their beliefs.

I disagree. There are plenty of groups and forums for specific religious beliefs. It's easy to find them. But this is the only place that I can come to and learn about all different religions and interact with people of different religions (and no religion at all). Eventually, it would be nice if people of all religions could live peacefully. Here in R&S we can try to do that. If we can't even get along on here, how are we ever going to do it in real life? I still have hope. We will never learn to live together peacefully if we keep segregating ourselves.

You know, that sounds very similar to the argument used to keep certain people less human before the year 1865.

Even if different categories are made it will not stop those that wish to visit other sections. I do not have children but am not barred from going to the parenting section.

Is it that hard to deal with the fact that not all opinions will agree with yours so you would see them banished?

How boring that would be. Everybody preaching to the converted? No way.

Debate, discussion, and the exchange of ideas is what keeps democracy lively.

I guess if there are people on here who only want their own words reflected back to them, such forums would be handy. But as someone else pointed out, the trolls would follow them around, anyway. So this is the best place to be.

Well, it wouldn't matter wether or not there were a hundred different sections, because anyone can answer as they like... I know it is frustrating, but if you don't want to see most of it, it is your choice to go answer some questions.
Just ignore the answers you get and don't agree with otherwise.
Good Luck!

You think we should.

People will still argue, be rude, and senseless; they're no changing human nature.

i coulldn't care less--i find the religion and spirituality catagory the best place to pick a fight.

It would be great to have different sections for different beliefs to discuss and debate, but you're still gonna have the idiots who don't believe the way you do and who think everyone should believe as them, trashing the forum with blabberings, not willing to stop and learn another point of view.

I think it would be helpful. It may also help it a little personal information was required to open an account. That might slow down some of the abuse.
