Do all on this forum realize that asking people specifically to convert to Islam is a formal prelude for going to war with those that don't convert per Islamic protocols?

That the present push on proselytizing via the internet and on many TV shows may be the set up so the musims can declare a "righteous war on the West."
The subject has come up because Ben Laden did not offer Bush the chance to convert before 9/11, but has done so since. What bothers me is several questioners that offered conversion, then followed by a later question that implied violence....another step in the religious protocol that takes place in Islam before an attack.

I also wonder why some of the Muslims who tout their religion as gentle and compassionate have not already brought this subject up for discussion.

My darling hubby just alerted me to this clone (and also note the other Loka clones in this person's Fans list).

http://answers.yahoo.com/my/qa/index;_ylt=AhYQzElf759xE5DzdHxUTh_sy6IX?link=answer&more=y&show=fi9O699Kaa

How ought one to take clones of oneself? As flattery, as people with no life of their own, as folks who maybe have a crush on you, what?

And, what possible spiritual satisfaction could one get from doing this?

OK, so let me get this straight. All this guy had to do, after shooting and killing over 30 innocent people, was stand there, ask for forgiveness, really, really mean it, and he will get to go to Heaven, right? As long as he asks and acccepts JC as his personal savior, then hes in, right? N matter how horrific his actions were. Am I correct on this?
I dont care about the fact that he shot himself. Suppose the cops had shot him? Would he be able to get in then? If he did what he was supposed to do.

One God
(Deuteronomy 6:4) - "Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!"
(Isaiah 43:10) - ". . . Before Me [YHWH] there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me."
(Isaiah 44:6) - ". . . there is no God besides Me."
(Isaiah 44:8) - ". . . And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none."

Many gods
(Genesis 1:26) - "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness . . ."
(Genesis 3:22) - "And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil . . ."
(Genesis 11:7) - "Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
(1 Corinthians 8:5) - "For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords")."
(1 John 5:8) - "For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement."

Many of the people on this site were jumping on the bandwagon, stating that this criminal (VTech shooter) was an atheist, and now that a little evidence comes to light that he was most likely NOT an atheist (athesits do not complain about "debauchery and deceitful charlatans"), everyone refuses to pass judgement or they say his religion doesnt matter??

You all know darn well that if this guys note said "Im an atheist and Im killing people because of it" you'd be having a field day with it, using it to further your political and religious agenda. However, now that you cannot use this person as a political pawn because he wasnt atheist, you turn tables and refuse to pass judgement or state that the religion or lack thereof doesnt really matter....

Dont get me wrong - I do not think that his religion or lack thereof has anything to do with the reasons he did what he did. But it irks me taht his perceived lack of religion yesterday was a major topic, and now "doesnt matter."

they say "we are Christian because we except Jesus" but they except a Mormon Jesus, not the Jesus I know from the bible.

they say"we are Christian" yet no Christian excepts them as a Christian.

they say"we believe in 3 Gods"(the Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit) yet the Christians say"our God is ONE"

they say"there will be marriage in heaven" but Jesus says"there will be no marriage, nor any given in marriage" are they saying Jesus is a lier?

they say"we can become Gods" but God says"there is no other Gods"

they dress like business men, no crosses on their churchs

I could go on and on....

Why won't they except that THEY ARE NOT CHRISTIANS? and not the true church of Jesus Christ.

I'm half christian half wiccan, and i see god as a beautiful woman and i think of her as my mother. but everytime i would talk about the Goddess, christians spat at me and said your going to hell. I kno christians are not very tolerant people and they are too afraid to learn about new people. But i wanna worship a woman, because im not a big fan of men. ( men are immature arrogant, and violent)

Deuteronomy 23:4-5 clearly forbids a Moabite from marrying into the L0rd's people/creating offspring from such a union. We see this prohibition being observed as late as the second temple time period (Ezra 9, 10, Nehemiah 9, 13)-much later than King David. And both Ezra and Nehemiah took this prohibition very seriously.
Now David is descended from Boaz's union with Ruth the Moabitess (see the whole book of Ruth. Also, in this incident- the relative took this prohibition very seriously - Ruth 4:6- and was not even willing to marry Ruth at all because of it).
Now Jesus is descended from David (Matthew 1 and Luke 3). The whole basis of Jesus Messiahship is his descendancy from David. But now David's whole lineage is illegitimate and invalid, due to his descendancy from a Moabitess. Thus Jesus is an illegitimate/invalid Messianic candidate (whether we consider his lineage from Mary or that from Joseph, since
both are from David) as well.

These are absurd and ridiculous.

The second coming of Jesus did not occur in 1914.
simply because, when Jesus comes back every eye
will see him.
The Jehovah's Witnesses did not see the second
coming at all.
There is a literal Hell, thats where the false prophets are.
The place of punishment for the wicked after death.
just a small part of the 101 beliefs of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Heaven is for the ones that have excepted Jesus christ into
their hearts. But the Jehovah's witnesses dont pray to Jesus.
Jesus is the way of salvation. How can one be saved, without
calling upon Jesus to save them?
What's wrong with buying Girl Scout cookies? I see nothing
wrong with it myself.
And what is problem in giving to charities? I for one, would
not give to Jehovah's witnesses, because they have a
corrupt book. they tell half truths.
Jesus could not have failed in his mission.
supporting your country is a right, a right to fight for what this
country stands for.

I tend to agree with this quote.
"The purpose of scripture or the doctrines of religion is to keep people from dwindling in unbelief and to ultimately help bring their souls into a state of cleanliness, that they may dwell with their Father in heaven in the eternities. It is a step-by-step process."

--John H. Vandenberg, "To Cleanse Our Souls", Ensign, Nov. 1975, 42

What do you think the purpose of scripture is? Also, what do you think of this quote?

Honestly, I have a hard time "letting go & letting God". I've had some recent life-changing circumstances occur in my life. I want to trust God to believe that He will make everything alright. It's just that at times, I become doubtful. How do you
"turn it over" and continue to enjoy your days in turmultous times?
p.s. all advice is sincerely appreciated. Thanks
