My wife and I spent a week in Malysia a few years ago.

It was surprising just how western the country really is.

We felt completely safe roaming the back streets looking for places to eat in the early hours.

Most people were just as friendly or friendlier than what we were used to in Australia.

Going about day to day life there, we saw very little, aside from the odd mosque, that showed it as muslim rather than christian.

Why do so many christians seem to have a problem with the general muslim population when the real trouble makers are so few?

when really he's just moderately forgiving? he gives us free will, but when we use it to choose not to believe in him, we don't go to heaven. that doesn't sound very forgiving to me.

"Bring to the storehouse a full tenth of what you earn so there will be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord All-Powerful. ‘I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out all the blessings you need.’"
(Malachi 3:10)
When you show God that you’re trustworthy, you remove the limits of what He can do in your life. This is the way to blessing and increase. God works by laws, including the law of the tenth, or tithe. When you give to God’s work and to help others, you are helping to fill His storehouse. And notice the promise God makes to those who honor Him first. Opening the windows of heaven is about the strongest language the Bible uses to describe the extent of God’s blessing! But it starts with your response to God’s offer to test Him in this area by giving to Him first. This is one test you cannot fail, because the Almighty God will pass everyone who takes it!

Most christians around the world actually believe in evolution and don't take the bible as being something to be interpreted literally. Certainly not many outside the states consider Genesis to be factual.

Yet the fundamentalists in the USA seem to think they represent mainstream christian thought rather being the fringe dwellers that everyone else sees them as.

Are they really that disinterested in paying attention to the rest of the world?

I'm not real clear on why so many Christians seem so set against US legislation allowing gay marriage?
Yes, I know homosexuality is an abomination. .
I think homosexuals themselves know there is something unnatural about it, or they wouldn't be telling us how they "do it" in the animal kingdom, as if they think we ought to pattern our sex lives after chimpanzees.
None of this is the point. The point is that people who are not Christians do not feel as if they ought to be bound by Christian laws...and who are we to disagree with them? I don't recall hearing nearly so much noise from Christians when the issue was whether or not homosexual couples ought to be allowed to adopt and raise kids, why all the noise now? Surely you know that making it legal in the US will not make it legal in God's Kingdom? We still have the right to say we don't want gay marriage in our churches, don't we?

If you have read my profile you'll note that I completely admit to being a goofball. I was as always will be the class clown. With that in mind I have a question kinda silly but a question about a T-shirt I bought. I believe there is only one God and that's Jesus Christ but I bought a t-shirt that reads:

"I have the body of a God...unfortunately it's Buddha"

Is wearing that disrespectful to my faith? If you a fellow Christian saw that on me would you be offended...it referring to Buddha as a God? Silly question I know...your opinions anyway please
