"Bring to the storehouse a full tenth of what you earn so there will be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord All-Powerful. ‘I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out all the blessings you need.’"
(Malachi 3:10)
When you show God that you’re trustworthy, you remove the limits of what He can do in your life. This is the way to blessing and increase. God works by laws, including the law of the tenth, or tithe. When you give to God’s work and to help others, you are helping to fill His storehouse. And notice the promise God makes to those who honor Him first. Opening the windows of heaven is about the strongest language the Bible uses to describe the extent of God’s blessing! But it starts with your response to God’s offer to test Him in this area by giving to Him first. This is one test you cannot fail, because the Almighty God will pass everyone who takes it!

Tithing is also a way of expressing your acknowledgement that everything you have comes from God.

The New Testament nowhere assigns a certain percentage of income to set aside, but only says it is to be “in keeping with his income” (1 Corinthians 16:2). The Christian church has essentially taken the 10% figure from the Old Testament tithe and applied it as a “recommended minimum” for Christians in their giving. Although the New Testament does not identify a specific amount or percentage to give, it does talk about the importance and benefits of giving. They should give as they are able, “in keeping with his income.” Sometimes that means giving more than a tithe, sometime that may mean giving less than a tithe. It all depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. Each and every Christian should diligently pray and seek God’s wisdom as to whether to participate in tithing and/or for how much he or she should give (James 1:5). “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Tithing was a law for the Jews, it was like an income tax but only on the fruit of the land. No money involved. Not anyone tithed. Jesus was a carpenter and carpenters did not pay tithes.

The tithe required by nowadays churches is an outright fraud. No tithing in the New Testament, as far as 10% of income is concerned.

Abraham before the law of Moses was instituted gave a tithe as an act of worship (Gen 14:20, Heb 7:2). Christians as children of Abraham, the father of faith, should tithe as Abraham did as an act of worship to God. Our worship of God is seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto us (Matt 6:33). Any amount over a tenth given by a Christian is an offering. We should give as led by the Spirit.

The law of Huququ'llah (giving 19 per cent of one's excess income) was revealed in the Most Holy Book. Since it's a law ordained by God Himself, it is incumbent on everyone. That's my reason to tithe anyway.

All money all everything belongs to God...were just being obedient and good stewards in giving back to God what is already his. Anyway I've found I'm more financially blessed when I tithe. That's always a bonus. I believe God wants us to support our Churches our missions our ministries. If we don't who will.

2 Corinthians 8:12-15 For if there is first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to what a man hath, [and] not according to what he hath not. 13For [I mean] not that other men should be eased, and you burdened: 14But by an equality, [that] now at this time your abundance [may be a supply] for their want, that their abundance also may be [a supply] for your want: that there may be equality: (Webster)

Tithing (i.e giving the 1/10) is like giving the tax. The other sowing into the kingdom is like investing.
