to know everything is to know the theory
when we test and prove the theory
we can be said to practice religion
to practice religion religiously is to apply theory into fact
then we could be said to be religious [yet even then we could still practice the wrong rite religiously]

No; there's a lot of people who talk a real good game, but their lives are just as messed-up as "non-religious" folks. And, anyway...who's to say what "religious" (or spiritual, to be more accurate) is, anyway?

There are white, middle-class women who act all "religious" and go to church, but by their appearance, would not be considered very "Christian" by someone like a devout Mormon.

People have different levels of spirituality, and I doubt that the Creator ever intended us to be identical, like so many sausage links...

I think that in order to be "religious," the person actually has to follow a set of religious teachings. Knowledge alone doesn't do anything unless you act on it.

A religious person is a self-righteous prig. A spiritual person seeks a one-on-one relationship with God. Religious people are the curse of the world because they think that they are always right and that everybody else is wrong. they prefer to do things their way in the name of God, rather than to do things God's way in the name of God. Spiritual people follow God, while religious people try to lead God around by the nose.

No, I'm not religious, but since I go to church, it gives me a higher level of knowledge about the church and its beliefs than most of my friends and work colleagues. It is possible to be well read in theology, without having a great deal of belief.

No. Religious is when you believe in the religion rather than just knowing a lot about it. :)

No, that would make that person a "theologian".

A religious person is one who puts into practice what he learns from his religion, he lives according to the teachings of his faith.

absolutely not , some of the most informed people on the planet when it comes to religion only study it trying to figure out how to disprove, dishonor, and degrade it.

its sad but true that people would be willing to put so much energy into trying to destroy something just because they do not want to be a part of it

No. You can know a lot of stuff but to use it effectively is another matter. To have compassion for everyone and everthing is true religion. It doesn't have to include a god or a system. Just compassion, willingness to look and willingness to listen.
