If you have read my profile you'll note that I completely admit to being a goofball. I was as always will be the class clown. With that in mind I have a question kinda silly but a question about a T-shirt I bought. I believe there is only one God and that's Jesus Christ but I bought a t-shirt that reads:

"I have the body of a God...unfortunately it's Buddha"

Is wearing that disrespectful to my faith? If you a fellow Christian saw that on me would you be offended...it referring to Buddha as a God? Silly question I know...your opinions anyway please

I'd have to giggle at that.I wouldn't be offended.Just because we love the Lord. We are human and do have a sense of humor. How else would we be able to read all the things on YA that people actually print.LOL

Since your shirt uses "a god" it is in line with the scriptures. However, it would have been nice if it had been a small 'g' instead of a capital G.

1 Corinthians 8:5-6 For also since there are things called gods, whether in heaven or on the earth, as there are many gods and many lords, 6yet to us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. I hope that you aren't as fat as Buddha's statues usually are! If you are you need my diet system (free of charge)

Hmmmm good question... i don't think that would really offend me as a christian. but it may offend some people... i don't believe that buddha is a god but i'm sure he was a person and not even close to one of the hottest guys in the world... so the shirt is funny i guess. but idk... just don't wear to offend people... wear it just as a joke and if someone says anything about it then don't be disrespectful to them because different things offend different people.

Your faith is between you and God, not between you and other Christians, who ought to be worrying about their own faith instead of questioning yours.
Personally, I think the shirt is kinda cute. If I saw you wearing it at the mall, I don't think it would occurr to me to think "gee that is so not Christian", I would be too busy giggling and pointing you out to my friends so that they could get a good laugh too.
I might even ask you "Hey, where did you get that shirt?" so I could buy one for my son, who is also a class clown.

I think it's okay to wear. Even buddhists have to admit that Buddha looked the way he looked. Of course, I am referring to the buddha with the big belly, not any of the other Buddhas out there.

I can't speak for Buddhists, but as a Christian I don't see a problem. Even Buddhists don't believe that Buddha was God.

Well if its in caps i could see why but lower case is fine and that is a funny shirt i say wear it just as long as you believe that God is the one true God

The problem I have is with the Capital G. That would refer to the Creator God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, so, yes, that would be disrespectful.

In general, however, if something makes you uneasy, Don't Do It! You have reasons inside of you that make you not like it. Be true to that voice.

4 things:
1: If you wear it to mock then it is disrespectful.
2: I am a Buddhist and I am not offended
3: My cousin (who is a christian) isn't offended even though he is beside me, reading your question
4: You are a goofball (I read your profile)

No, you purchased the shirt, because it was witty and you liked it. There is nothing wrong with wearing a shirt. You know your beliefs and who cares what other people think, go live your life carefree of other people's personal thoughts toward your shirt.
