Maybe he works through me to make people stronger in their faith. Maybe his plan is that I push people's buttons and question their beliefs so they are forced to re-examine them and see just how deeply those beliefs run. How do you know in what God works?

If I ever hear another person say It sounded like a freight train or I never thought something like that could happen here or he is a great guy he would never do something like that. How about a woman who lets her young daughter hang out with a grown man and wounder why he molested her. Does this bother you

How do we help bring Gay/Lesbin people to Christ?
I pray, but what else can I do?

Hi, I was wondering if Christians would tell me what they thought (or anyone really) about having a place like a Christian coffe shop.

I am thinking about opening one in my hometown. I have several bands that will play for the weekends, a library of books and chairs for study. Tables for games, and visiting, ect.

It could be used for meetings for study groups and perhaps have wireless internet access.

Coffee and tea service as well. With a Christian enviroment.

I want to set this up for non profit.
Has anyone done this? Would you think it would be a good place?

Please give me your input.

I am looking for a church around Washington DC Silver Spring area that is open all the time. I want to spend a few quite moments, light a candle, pray or just feel close to God.

I am not too particular about the type of church, I am not a Christian.

To be honest, a mosque or a synagogue or a temple is great too, as long as I am allowed to come in any time and pray. I know that God welcomes everyone all the time but places of worship have restrictions.

Thank you in advance.

Why is it important for some Christians to believe that Mary had no children after Jesus?
I know not all Christians believe this, but there are many who do and some of them get very angry when others comment on it.
I can understand the whole Jesus being married thing and why most won't consider that possible. But why would Mary having other kids after Jesus was born be a big deal. It doesn't negate the virgin birth.

i see a lot of christians banishing people to hell and so forth, then say atheists are bashing them.
the ribbing goes both ways, we all know this.
it seems a common belief among christians that atheists have no place on R&S conversation.
believe it or not there are people who are not theists who enjoy the logical debate, find it interesting, if not frustrating also.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but religion is now one of the worlds biggest killers. It's not just islam (the definate worse of the lot) but the whole concept of believing in a God just isn't worth the pain it is causing the world.....these books just brainwash people into been hypocrites. There is no middle ground, it either brings the best out of people or the worse. I don't follow religion and although I'm not a saint, I'm not evil either.

Also, God created earth, he created Adam & Eve. Soooooo where did the Dinosaurs come into play? It's evolution baby....nothing else.

"There is proof God exists....just look around at everything"

....so because everything exists, it had to have come from a all knowing, all loving, all powerful spirit who has always existed?

doesn't that seem like an aweful lot of assumptions?

in a real world example, wouldn't that be like finding a dead dog on the road
then claiming that a 45 year old construction worker was talking to his boss Jeff on the phone and didn't have time to slam on his breaks in time. luckily the dog didn't feel any pain

Isn't that what God does all the time? Puts us in situations where you need to see if your faith is strong enough to endure the tough times? "He has a plan" it is said often. So therefore, if it's his plan that we fall into those tough situations where your faith is tested, he is putting you in those situations is he not? Therefore, by that reasoning he is not being loving. How can you accuse me, a part of God's plan to test you by pushing your buttons (if you believe in God!) of not being loving when it is simply his will that I do so? If *I* am not being loving by testing your faith, then how can you claim God is being loving by doing the same thing?

They can't seem to stay away from it. I must also say that yes, I do believe in God - however, let's suppose there was a board for believers in UFO's. I'm not sure they exist or not, but I wouldn't be on a UFO' board trying to or convince them they are wrong by bashing them. It's not offensive to me either way. It just an observation on my part - thats all.

In response to a previous question of mine, someone mentioned the Tamil terrorists from Sri Lanka (Hindus). There are also the IRA terrorists in Ireland (christian, but not active for a few years now), There's the seperatists in Spain who are still quite active (politically motivated), The Sarin gas attack in Japan (1995 cult group). The list goes on. Oklahoma bombing (political) There's no doubt that 9/11 was the most atrocious act of terror in history. Fundamentalist Islam probably IS one of the scariest issues facing the planet right now, but they don't have a copyright on terrorism. Shouldn't the media present terrorism as being a disease not bound to one culture, but something that must be stamped out from ALL cultures, including our own?

I'd love to hear how you do it. Here's mine:
When they come to your door, ask them to pull out their territory card (or whatever they use no), ask them to write your address on the back of it and 'DO NOT CALL' next to the address. It works for about a year, then they come back and see if it is still your wish for them not to call.

Looking for any other solutions,.

Now, how about looking past my flaws, I'll look past yours, and give me some reasonable answers without the bashing. I'm not bashing you and if it sounds that way, I guess your answer depends on where your heart was at when you read the question.

I am a loving person. I don't hate anyone. I'm an atheist. I like to test people and push their buttons though just to see if they'll snap. Most people do. When I'm tested, I walk away from the situation. I show that person compassion because obviously something in their life is making them act in an aggressive way. (Most of the time). So, rather than attacking people who poke fun at your religion or God, why not simply open your arms and embrace them as this atheist would do and accept them for the person they are instead of judging and accusing?
