A big problem that I see in Christianity is this: Many men (and women) become "pastors" because they are good public speakers, because they care about their community, because they feel they have something important to say. These are all the wrong reasons to become a pastor.
The right reason is because God called you to be a pastor.
In the cases of Jackson and Sharpton, it's pretty obvious what a mess this can result in. There are probably thousands (or more) cases of men (and women) "leading" congregations down a wrong path, because they were not called by God.
People like to follow someone who is charismatic, energetic, and saying the words they want to hear. Don't pick your doctor or your pastor that way. Find one who will tell you the truth, and that which will heal you.

They try to hide their fanatical racisim under a mask of "religion" like so many do both white and black. In the case of these two clowns---their only focus is on creating their own circus around unfortunate events and either inflaming any racist elements of them or outright creating racisist events (never forget Tawana Brawley). Religion has nothing to do with them---it is a show.

No because they make money on racism and spouting what is right or wrong according to their beliefs. In my opinion they make things worse at times. Honestly I just wish they would shut up and listen to someone else's opinion for a change.

For the same reason the Reverend Jerry Falwell and the Reverend Don Wildmon are more concerned about gay people and prime time TV, respectively, than religion.

No, they wouldn't, because what would they have to fight for? They use the pulpit to spread their agenda, that's all. When they are IN the pulpit... seems to me I see more of them at press conferences than in any churches....
