Heraldo on FOX stated that the conference was very unsatisfying.......may have mis spelled a couple of words.

Even though I posted this question. I agree with so many of you who said that they just may not have the answers , yet. AND that this is not CSI, one hour tv show. But, I still feel comfortable with posting the question as I think they should have taken questions even if they did have to say, "they just don't know at this time" over and over.

At my Yahoo level, I am not allowed to vote thumbs down or up. BUT if I could, I would give almost every answer a THUMBS UP.

It's Geraldo, not Heraldo.

I don't think it was disgusting at all. The media is sensationalizing a story that does not need sensationalizing. It's a tragic story all on it's own. The media doesn't need to try to read into it anything. The VT people don't know anything. They have ideas, they have persons of interest, they are shocked and horrified. The last thing they need is the press decending on them like a pack of vultures who haven't seen a fresh kill in months (ie the Amish murders). The way the press treated the VT Police Chief yesterday was horrible, and was probably the reason why they refused to take questions today. They've said all they can in their statements. They didn't have to even make those statements. The police force, and the powers that be at VT are being nice by even making the statements.
People/the Media can either play nice or go home with no story at all, in my opinion.

I really wish the press would back off until more information is actually known. Now is not the time to point fingers, dig for dirt, or hamper the on going investigation by asking useless questions so that they can entertain their viewer and get better ratings.

When they give you all of the info that is allowed to be released, they don't have much else to say. It's the same in every criminal investigation. The Salt Lake Trolley Square shooter comes to mind. It was quite a while before his name was released, and a day and a half later before there was a photo. It just takes time to make sure the facts are correct before you tell them to millions of people.

I'm like you. I want to know the answers now.
However, I can understand why the speakers don't want to answer any questions this soon. They need to collect all of the evidence and get the story straight so they don't give inaccurate information, which would open them up for more criticism.

I watched it LIVE on CNN. There are still gaps here and there so yes, I agree that the conference isn't as satisfying. I guess you'd have to wait a dew more hours. What I'd like to know is the shooter's motive(s)!

I didn't even watch. That really bummed me out yesteday, and I think I'm headed for another round of my depression becoming severe.

Edit: Thank you so much, Fuddles :) I'll keep that in mind, and I'm sorry to hear that you know about it, too. It'll probably only stay like this for a week or so.

Edit 2: Thank you, reeree :) I wish you guys weren't also familiar with it :(

Remember, we are accustomed to a media feed that gives us stimulating sensationalism...seriously. This is real and live; life takes its own time to get things together. Be patient and the story will come together.

They were probably following legal advise. There is going to be one heck of a wrongful death lawsuit here and EVERYTHING they say can be used against them in a court of law!

Maybe they wanted to get back to actually working out what went on and how to stop it from happening again rather than drip more blood to the ravenous vampiric public.

Edit: Sorry to hear that I Walk Funny - know what that's like, and my email's always open. :)
