Evidence suggests there was one or several individuals named Yeshua who were members of the Essene sect of Judaism. Jesus is the Greek name. Kristos was Greek for Messiah, a title given to almost anyone who opposed the Roman occupation of Palestine.

Or, maybe he was just a good Methodist.

Was Jesus Christian? No. Was He Jewish? Sort of, but not really. I don't think Jesus would be a religion, because it is not the religion that matters, but the actual teachings. He would teach those that would listen and provide them with the means to get through the rigors of life. As to endorsing a President...I don't think He would. He would want what was best for the people, but would allow the people to choose for themselves (this is what the Mormon faith teaches). He would continue to teach and the people would need to determine which candidate supported their morals and agenda. Is Romney a good guy? Definitely. Does he have high morals? Certainly. Does he fear God? Absolutely. Will I vote for him? Still too earlly.

Jesus IS the Mormons. We are His church.

As for endorsing anyone for public office, I think He's above petty party politics.
