Not if you're taught that god exists as a small child. People pass their values to their children and that's how the cycle continues. If you don't learn about god until you're an adult then you'd need a pretty strong imagination to believe all the magical things that most religions teach.

No. You need a strong imagination to believe in a creation without a Creator- or to believe in theories that are obsolete in ten years, versus a book that has existed for 3500 years and not changed, and can not be proven wrong. You need imagination to believe that the complexity of the universe and of life could happen by chance...much more imagination that one would need to believe that a tornado passing through a junkyard could errect a fully functional 747- because that would be easy by comparison.

The simplest of the mind is the biggest place where God will normally be. Imagination normally leads one to illusiionary fantasy. Stronger mind leads to lunacy. Not using the mind leads one to fallacy.
