Mormon's are counterfiet christians (Cult)
The Mormon religion was founded less than two hundred years ago by a man named Joseph Smith. He claimed to have received a personal visit from God the Father and Jesus Christ and told that all churches and their creeds were an abomination. Joseph set out to impose a brand-new religion that claims to be the “only true church on earth.” The problem with Mormonism is that it contradicts, modifies, and expands on the Bible. Christians have no reason to believe that the Bible is not true and adequate. To truly believe in and trust God means to believe in His Word. And all Scripture is inspired by God, which means it comes from Him (2 Timothy 3:16).
Counterfeit Christianity is probably the best description I can give for a cult. Counterfeit Christianity is an imitation of real Christianity. Bible terms like "Jesus Christ, Resurrection, Salvation, and Atonement" are used by the Cult, but the various cult groups have assigned entirely different meanings to these terms.
Like counterfeit money which is sometimes difficult to detect, so it is difficult to detect counterfeit Christianity, since it looks like the real thing. Experts examining counterfeit money often hold it up to a strong light and look for identifying marks. Counterfeit Christianity also has identifying marks, which can be seen when, held up to an even stronger light, the light of God's word, the bible.
We are at an advantage if we know what to expect from a cult. Cultists are very well trained to appear "Christian", and indeed believe they are the true churches, and you need the deliverance! Therefore, be bold and ask the question, "do you believe the group you represent is the only true church on the face of the earth?"
If they reply that they are, or if they are evasive, making remarks like "Well, every church has a measure of truth but...", you have made an early detection of a Cultist.
Every true Christian, if asked the same question, regardless of his denomination, would reply that the true church is comprised of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, and HE (not some organization) is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, (John 14:6). No legitimate denomination would claim that they alone and their members have salvation exclusively, but the cults (the counterfeits) do.

definite. on condition which you're defining a Christian or a Mormon as somebody who does the want of the father. If one is a Mormon yet does not do the want of the father, than they are actually not Christian, and vica verca. If somebody (incredibly) does the want of the father, they are going to, while they right here with regard to the restored gospel, connect the Church, and alter right into a mormon (member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), in the event that they have not executed so already, whether in this existence or the subsequent. So, in a feeling, all who've a broken heart and a contrite sprit and placed away the organic guy, would be introduced approximately the actuality by using the Sprit of God, and could in time exchange right into a Mormon as you place it. a real Christian will ultimately be introduced approximately the Mormon church, the place they might recieve ordiances contained in direction of the ability of God, which has purely been authorized by using servents in his Church. The Lord loves you all.

Here are some things I find funny.
1. Everyone says Mormonism is a cult--did you know the definition of cult in the dictionary is organized religion? So if you are a Baptist or Methodist or Catholic ect, then you must belong to a cult.
2. That for some reason, people think they know what Mormon's believe when they aren't a Mormon. How are you really going to know what they believe if you aren't one and choose not to ask one, and instead choose to ask or listen to someone who tells lies, like that we don't believe in the same Jesus that's in the Bible....that's crazy, of course we do.
3. Why would the name of our church be "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, if we didn't believe in the Jesus in the Bible.
I don't mean to sound snippy, but i would never profess to know what other religions believe because I'm not any other religion except Mormon. That would be like if you wanted to know all about a Toyota, so you choose to go to a Ford expert to ask him.....that wouldn't make sense, but that's what people do. They believe whatever they hear about what Mormon's believe from people that aren't Mormon but when a Mormon tells them what we believe, they think it's crap.
It's just funny to me the way the world works.

Dejavu.. It feels like I've answered this question before....
Depends on your definition of "Christian"....
If a person were to define a duck as a waterfowl with webbed feet, a wide bill, and all white, most wouldn't argue, but.... what about all the non-white varieties of wild ducks?
If you define a "Christian" as simply one who believes that Jesus was who He said He was- the promised Messiah, the Redeemer of the world, and the Savior of mankind... someone who also accepts Jesus' sacrifice for us... someone who follows Jesus' teachings...
Then, yes, Mormons are Christian.
If you refine and add to that definition that a Christian must also believe in... oh, say, the Trinity... or that they must believe that grace alone will save...
Then, no, Mormons won't fit the definition of "Christian."
Even among the the most main-stream Christian denominations, there are differences. Each has their own little things they feel are not quite right in all the other churches...
Ultimately, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

Try to find an unbiased definition of "Christian" where you include baptists and methodists, and exclude mormons.
...I'll help you out. It doesn't exist.
Mormons
...believe in Christ
...believe in the teachings of the old and new testaments
...believe that Christ suffered for our sins in Gethsemeny
...believe that Christ died on the cross and overcame death
...believe that he was resurrected on the 3rd day.
...believe that he is the son of God
...believe believe that we should strive to be like Christ and emulate him.
...Individual mormons regularly and publicly profess their faith in him.
...the name of the church is the "Church of Jesus Christ"
Now would you ever describe that person as anything but a christian???
Here's what happens....
Most christian churches sort of maintain the belief that "my church is just as good as your church". That they're just as true as each other. Mormons, however, claim that Jesus Christ himself leads the church through prophets, just as he did in both the old and new testament.
Because of this, they don't really fit into the "christian" club of churches. They are very clear about saying "Our church teaches truth that comes from god through his prophet". Other churches may have elements of truth, but have errors and are not led by god and do not hold gods authority.
Because of this, you see the viscous comments above. You don't see these types of comments about the churches that belong to the "club".
Indeed, they're very much like a Jr. High popularity contest having "cool" churches and "not cool" churches. Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are in the "not cool" catagory. Catholics are sort of tollerated. (Catholics can say hi in the halls, but not sit with them at lunch).

The name of the LDS church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The Cornerstone of The Church is Jesus Christ. He is my salvation and the only way I can be saved. We use the KJV and no other translation because the KJV has been translated the least.
We're called Mormons because we claim Another Testament of Jesus Christ--The book of Mormon. It's Gods record of some of his 'Other Sheep' as spoken of in John 10:16. also prophesied of in Eze. 37:15-18.
Many Christians sects hate us because preachers hate the book of Mormon because it speaks strongly against paid Clergy.
I testify that Jesus is my Lord and the Book of Mormon is the word of God. The LDS church is set up exactly how Christ set up his church during His earthly ministry. I know there is living prophet on earth today. I say these thing through the grace of Jesus Christ.
P.S. Don't listen to everything you hear about 'Mormons' on the Internet; there is amazing amounts of false information.

I believe that Christ atoned for my sins, I also worship Jesus Christ. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in both the Bible and in the Book of Mormon.
At this point you decide for yourself. A lot of xians will say no, and that is their right. It is just a title, fundamentalist Christians(tm) can keep the title is they wish to. In the end I will let Christ be the judge of me. I am proud to be a LDS, and grateful for the doctrine God has provided us.
Fun fact:
Christianity was once upon a time considered a cult, and many people treated them exactly how some of them treat us in these latter days.
Another fun fact:
Christians were also labeled as Atheist for worshipping false Gods.
God bless.

Mormons are Christian and we do believe in the same Christ as anyone else who calls themselves Christian. We do not worship Joseph Smith as some people are suggesting.

Yes. We are Christian. We do believe it is through grace we are saved, but we also believe that you have to show Christ you accept His grace. I'm posting a link to a site that answers this very question, so check it out after I'm done rambling.
The name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We got the nickname "mormons" during the period of persecution that our church experienced. It isn't the name of our church, and I find the nickname offensive. I would rather be called LDS or Latter- Day saint instead.
Our FIRST article of faith states that we believe in God the Eternal Father, in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. How much more plain do you need it? Doesn't that say right there that we believe in Christ?? It is the same Christ that is in the bible. I believe in the bible, I study the bible, I try to live the commandments as Christ has asked us all to.
We don't worship Joseph Smith!! We believe he was a prophet, appointed by God to bring about the restoration of the full gospel. That is all we think of him. He wasn't another Christ, he wasn't put in the place of Christ.
As far as people saying that prophets aren't supposed to be on the earth today, and that the bible clearly says that no more revelation will be given after the bible, that's wrong. It clearly states in Joel 2:28: And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Christ actually said that there would be prophets after him, whom he would send, and established the principle of continuing, modern revelation to apostles and prophets to guide his Church. In Matthew 23:34, Christ said: Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city.... I could quote bible versus all day on this subject.. but I'll stop there.
Others also don't see us as Christian because of the creeds that were introduced in the 3rd and 4th centuries. They say that because we don't subscribe to the idea of the trinity, this in some way makes us un-Christian. As if is states in the bible that the trinity is real. It doesn't, but I won't go into that here. We don't believe in the trinity. We believe in the Godhead that talks about in the bible. We don't believe that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are one. They are separate beings. There are many times in the scriptures when that is pointed out.
We aren't a cult. Although, but the definition that some people use, all religions would be a cult. Sorry.. but the same definitions most people use to describe a cult would be the same thing that would show that they are in a cult themselves.
I would never come out and say that someone wasn't Christian when they say they believe in Christ. Just because their beliefs are a little different from mine, doesn't mean that I have the right to label them as un-Christian.

Yes, LDS (Mormons) accept Christ as the Savior, the Lord, the Redeemer. It is through him that we reach Heaven, and he gives us the opportunity for Eternal Life with his sacrifice. That, to me, is Christian, and that is what I believe.
And Emulata, it is the same Christ. After all, LDS accept the Holy Bible as the word of God. Why would we accept it as scripture if we didn't believe it were true?
Cloud S, do all Christian denominations agree 100% with every little thing? Of course not, but that doesn't mean that they don't believe in Christ, which is the original definition of a Christian anyways.
