Why is it hard for some people who believe strongly in a specific religion to understand why other people follow different religions? Don't people make the same remarks about your religion all of the time? If [Insert your religion here] were so obvious, why are so many people complaining about it? Why ask questions in such a negative way? This indicates to me that you really don't care about the question at all, you just want to make a statement.

There must be something about Scientology. So many people would not follow its teachings if it did not have offer the followers something. I would bet the true followers of Scientology have achieved some spiritual or self awareness goals that are probably very significant in their lives. If this keeps them from the truth, it may be bad, but otherwise it is likely a notable accomplishment.

I don't know how it is today, but I was involved with it for 4 or 5 years in the 70's.

At that time the technology they used would really help the people involved, provided they were willing to be helped. Including myself. I had many personal gains from it, although I finally left due to their pushing of the "religion" issues.

Scientology started from the L. Ron Hubbard book called "Dianetics". The theories and exercises in that book can be done between any 2 people without getting involved in the controversial "religion" called "Scientology".

(and much cheaper I might add! ) LOL

Yeah, actually there are people defending it. It's the reason that sciencetology is still alive.
Don't worry, religion is just for a matter of time, all of it...When secrets will no longer exist, nor shall religion.

All the major and break off religions have exhibited practises and traits that could be considered cult- like and oppressive to their members.

All become sprawling institutions that are fed by money, greed and most of all power.

From the begining of recorded history religion has been perverted and used as a source of control over the masses and less powerful.

To single one above the others is nothing short of hypocrisy, they have all been and are all guilty of murder, abuse, mind control and unspeakable atrocities to their followers and those who chose not to follow their ideologies.

Including the big 3..Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

No ones hands are pure and clean of the blood that has been spilled in the name of God. If you are not aware of this you know nothing of history and the world is doomed to continue this misguided cycle of hatred and fear mongering.

Let me tell you two things.

1) All religion is made up

2) I went in one day after high school with a buddy for a "free personality test." Both me and my friend were seperated and were given somewhat standard tests. Afterwards a counsellor came up to me and asked if I was depressed and ever thought of suicide. My life at the time was good, so of course I replied "no." Turns out they said the same to my buddy, who was also doing quite well.

Draw your own conclusions.

I was involved with it for a short time when I was a college kid. You are correct, it's made up. But I wouldn't call it a religion. And it's certainly not a church. They have no real theology. The only things they worship are money and that nut case L. Ron Hubbard.

Far as I can tell it's only called a 'religion' because L. Ron Hubbard wanted a tax free status for his 'church.

That tells me there's something rotten going on with them.

Since it makes some people feel good it is still around.

I can't ----I actually thought the old guy was stating a concept, a theory about how we progressed from whatever to whatever and it wasn't a religion......at first...but like most commentary on idealism, it get put into force as a religion or as a means to fight and kill people....

OH!
You mean the fake religion made up by a man who faked his own death then REALLY DID die?

You've said it all my friend. LOL

Personally, I don't care for his books, either.
