Many of the people on this site were jumping on the bandwagon, stating that this criminal (VTech shooter) was an atheist, and now that a little evidence comes to light that he was most likely NOT an atheist (athesits do not complain about "debauchery and deceitful charlatans"), everyone refuses to pass judgement or they say his religion doesnt matter??

You all know darn well that if this guys note said "Im an atheist and Im killing people because of it" you'd be having a field day with it, using it to further your political and religious agenda. However, now that you cannot use this person as a political pawn because he wasnt atheist, you turn tables and refuse to pass judgement or state that the religion or lack thereof doesnt really matter....

Dont get me wrong - I do not think that his religion or lack thereof has anything to do with the reasons he did what he did. But it irks me taht his perceived lack of religion yesterday was a major topic, and now "doesnt matter."

I agree. Christians on here love to dredge up the most horrific stories they can and blame it all on atheism and our godless society....then they clam up or disown the person when it comes out that he is a christian or religion had nothing to do with it. A definite double standard.

I do not think that his religion or lack thereof has anything to do with the reasons he did what he did.
Many who call themselves Christian have committed horrible crimes.
Though if we search the scriptures we will find that murderers are not followers of Christ teachings regardless of whether or not they claim him.
Atheist are simply men like any others, but they do not know God.
The Bible teaches that there is no difference between men we are all sinners and the only difference it that difference that which God makes.
Those that are by faith changed are not murderers so to ponder whether or not a criminal is Christian is pointless.

I don't know about yesterday the power was out here . So
whats to judge , that's Gods sovereign right . A true believer
in Jesus Christ would not have been led astray and committed such an act . ITS HARD at times like this , but we
must stand still before the Cross , and forgive , for will all
have sinned . Not one is better than the other . But it is sad..

The ONLY exercise some people get is from jumping to conclusions. Anybody can go totally crazy, no matter what his professed religion happens to be (or not to be, as the case may be).

Why does it matter...the mans religion, or lack of it...does not change what was done. It will not bring back those young people to their parents or children or friends or lovers. They still will never get to hold their grandchildren or give their daughters in marriage. Why does it matter???? He must have been a troubled person to do something so awful. I think it is so tasteless to make this a debate over religion.

The funny part is if he was a Muslim, people wouldn't be trying to call him "crazy" or "mentally unstable." They would just attribute it to him being Muslim.

This young man, regardless of religious affiliation, had SEVERE issues to commit such a horrible act.

I agree. Why do people speculate, and point fingers when it will take weeks, if not months before the full story plays out?

Better question.

If "God" is all powerful & loves us as his children, then why did he allow the murders to happen?

Oh wait, I know the answer.

"I am the almighty God. I created everything. You are imperfect (with sin). I give you free will. Now worship me or burn in hell for eternity."

And I am "mysterious".
