As you may have read many of the news stories, honey bee colonies are dying at an unprecidented rate, in both America and Europe. 50% of colonies have died in most locations. While scientists are not exactly sure why, it's very likely that those who do survive will be more resistant to whatever is the threat.

This new, slightly altered species will (hopefully) prosper.

For the theists out there- this is an example of how evolution works. Not slowly over time- but often rather quickly due to extreme stresses on a species.

As an observer it is laughable to witness responses borne of pure ignorance.

Presupposition of a poster's belief based simply upon the poster finding your responses to be product of pure ignorance, is humorous, yes?

"We live in an age where science has become almost a religion unto itself, yet the more science learns about the history of ancient times the more the old religious texts are holding up. Why then are men still killing men over the basic human right to worship as they please? Why does one faith keep trying to win over another and hold that only their belief is the correct one when both people believe basically the same thing?

Unfortunately, the answer to these questions can only be "Money and Power". For centuries religion has been used as a political weapon and force by those benefiting most by the continuation of seperatist visions of religion."-part of a ULC (Universal Life Church) sermon

What are your opinions on this?

I wanna know what you believe & why.

I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't talk negatively towards other's responses either. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion--respect that.

I don't want a huge debate here.....
Is it just me, or is Yahoo! Answers quite anti-Christian?
For example, a person asked what a good gift for Easter would be (no candy) for a 6 year old?
I answered, a Bible with pictures.... You wouldn't believe the people who were against that! I mean, come on! Easter is traditionally a Christian holiday!
I thought we were supposed to respect other's opinions! I don't slam other religions, why should they feel they should slam mine?
Anyway, just want a few opinions

Did God the Father send a lying spirit, as he did in 1 Kings? Like Father, like Son?

John 7 - 8 You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come." 9 Having said this, he stayed in Galilee. 10 However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.

(Please don't say that "his time" came after they left. By saying "However" and "but in secret" it is obvious that the text is telling us that Jesus was deceiving them.)

Hello. I was raised catholic but do not go to church, I have my own personal relationship with God and I have never found any organized religion satisfying personally. I am considering getting married in the Lutheran church with my Lutheran fiance, so we can wed in an outdoor setting (catholics cannot wed outdoors). My extremely devote catholic mother is going to have a fit about this, but I just do not see the problem! Lutherans and Catholics worship the same God, the same Jesus Christ. The religions are so identical but yet I know my mother will look at me as if I am damned if I do not wed in the catholic church. Why is this!? Its not like Im getting married by a witch doctor or something, right!?
I just dont see the reason for the rivalry between such similar faiths... lutheran, catholic whatever, its the same god! Why is it such an issue? Make me understand!!

I'm Jewish and my best friend is Christian. She says she doesn't believe that we go to hell, but some other girl said that we do. I have even heard mixed anwsers from ministers. One said that Jews need to find Jesus or we wont go to heaven and another said that Jews don't go to hell because both religions believe in the same G-D. I was just wondering what most Christians believe..

Surely he knew the scriptures better than anyone?
If the priest was known by 2 names, shouldn't Jesus be more clear?

1 Samuel 21:{1} David went to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest.(...) {2} David answered Ahimelech the priest,(...) {3} Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever you can find." {4} But the priest answered David, "I don't have any ordinary bread on hand (...) {5} David replied (...) {6} So the priest gave him the consecrated bread

Mark 2:25He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions."

When I was younger, I was molested by my stepfather. I had become pregnant as a result and decided to keep the baby. Still to this day, Christians try to tell me this was a huge mistake. I don't see it this way. I love my child. Why is it that a Christian would chastise such a decision? Also, why would they say that "the sin of the father is laid upon your child"? That just seems completely wrong to me.

I gather that there is a prayer recited for each bead, but how many beads are there? What do they signify? For what reason(s) would one "say" a rosary? Is it the same prayer for each bead? Are all the beads the same?
No uninformed or Catholic-hating Protestants, please.
Thanks.
