Christian right here. Yes we are being persecuted even here, where it appears that we are outnumbered or we have a lot of us who just keep silent. We account for 86% of the population and yet we have accepted laws for abortion, homosexuality, removal of prayer from our schools, removal of the ten commandments from our laws, the teaching of homosexuality as an acceptable life style to our children, the right of openly gay partners to adopt children etc......I personally encourage every Christian on this site to respond to as many of these questions as they can as a witness for CHRIST. What a wonderful opportunity GOD has given us to do HIS work.

No disrespect intended presently ma'am; as a Christian, but 'Easter' is a questionable translation. Passover, would be a better translation. I realize that the KJV Acts 12:4 renders it 'Easter', but many other English translations render it Passover; as does the original Greek. Easter and Passover are similar (time of year wise) but they are notidentical. That idea is part of why Christianity in USA is so divided presently!!!

Hatred of the followers of Christ was predicted by Christ. Don't marvel too much over a world under the sway of Satan. People are basically self-centered, and from what I have seen of most of "God haters" on this site, I would guess that someone "intruded" in their lives at some point with issues of faith and either irritated, offended or hurt them. They then seem to see this as a justification for attacking ANYONE who professes any sort of religious faith, as if by lashing out they can change anything. The logic of this escapes me. Most of us posting on this board can safely say that we have not been the original cause of the offense, and are not responsible for the actions of those who continue to offend. Why should they waste so much time? Is it not rather childish?

The secularists have taken over R&S, it's been that way as long as I've been coming here. There are pockets of believers here and there, but if a believer asks a question that can either remotely be considered secularist, or is a pro-religion, anti-fundementalist question it gets slammed by either (sometimes both) the secularists or the fundies.

Where? There are a lot of them here! I see them bashing people (mostly atheists) all the time!
Personally I don't bash anyone unless they instigate it. I won't "slam" anyone unless they say something that I find rude & disrespectful towards my beliefs.
And actually..... easter WAS traditionally pagan until the christians acquired it. Now it is "traditionally" christian.

I'm a christian too and i've been surprised at the number of anti-christian remarks here. And your idea for easter was a really good idea! Kids need to know that Easter isn't about the Easter bunny or candy but about Jesus and that He rose again. I think that it's really sad that so many people are against the Christian religion and they basically know nothing about it. They try to categorize us into one group by saying we are all close-minded and love to gossip and judge people when in reality, we don't. at least, i'm not close-minded and i don't like to gossip and i try really hard not to judge.

There's no law that says you have to respect the opinions of others. Could you imagine if there was? That's a really scary thought. People have different views and that's how it should be. You can just ignore them.
May God Bless you.

The entire world view is Anti-Christ. This little cross-sectional is indicative of the present day mind set that is against both the teachings of Jesus Christ and His imperfect followers(of which I am unashamedly one).

I'm here occassionally. I think most of the Christian's know they can get real answers somewhere else besides Y!Answers. Most of the "anti-christians" are here so they can satisfy their own superiority complex.

Seems to me that you're basically correct. Logic and reason are winning out over faith and ignorance (at least on YA).
Giving a Bible with pictures to a 6 year old is just perpetuating a myth, and indoctrinating a young child who is too young to make up his own mind. Religion should never be taught to anyone under 16. Otherwise, you're not teaching them, you're brainwashing them.
