I'm a pantheist and I'm interested in dating a Jehovah's Witness. Do you think a relationship between us would work?

Religion is not the only thing that affects how well a relationship works.

The primary religious issues for marriage are:
* In what faith will the children be raised?
* Will each partner allow the other to grow in their religion?
* Will neither partner attempt to convert the other to their path?
* How will holidays be celebrated?
* How will Holy Days be celebrated?

If dating is not a prelude to a LTR, then the issue is what interests you two share/have in common.

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it?

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness?

Jehovah's witnesses recognize the wisdom in these bible verses and therefor try to follow it's advice and marry only in the Lord.

i'm LDS - married a guy who replaced into non-denominational christian. After approximately 2 years of marriage, he switched over and later we went in the process the temple and all - yet after some years, little via little he began to fall away and bypass lower back to his procedures earlier, and finally grew to become atheist. For us, none of this replaced into quite an argument. Having run the gamut in my marriage - i'm able to honestly say non secular matters could be worked by way of. in case you the two are keen to compromise somewhat and furnish appreciate for an extra's perspectives you might have an inter-faith marriage with out genuine issues. raising toddlers could be a stumbling block - yet no longer in case you talk approximately it earlier the subject is a controversy. you will desire to come to a determination how significant your faith is to you and face the actuality which you will not at all have a temple marriage, which you will not at all have toddlers that attend with you, and so on......and are available to a determination in case you will be comfortable with that. are not getting married questioning something is going to be any diverse than it quite is sweet now - (it might desire to - yet relying on it is purely soliciting for hassle). If i'd desire to do it another time? i might marry somebody from my faith. it might desire to have been much less perplexing for my toddlers - and given us greater person-friendly targets in the 'huge image'.

I think you could be open-minded enough to love a Jehovah's Witness. I doubt a Jehovah's Witness could be open-minded enough to love anyone who wasn't devoted to Jesus.

My sister is lutheran and my brother in law is jahovah and they have been married for 18 years and have 4 beautiful children. I think any relationship can work if you really love each other.

Probably not. As a Jehovah's Witness, its her duty to try to lure you into her church, and you two will probably argue big time over the kids.

Your Jehovah's Witness will get thrown out of their church for dating a worldy person if the elders of the church find out.

Dating is easy. It's when it gets serious that it becomes difficult.

JWs tend to be very committed to their beliefs. If you can tolerate this and you aren't being pressured to convert, dating does not imply any major commitments.

Of course, the end of the evening may come sooner for someone in constant fear of hell. This may put a crimp in your plans.

If you're both tolerant of each other, why not? (I'm a devout atheist married to a Catholic; living together since '80.)
