If this is true, how can I become an Egyptian?

For example, what makes a person decide to be a Methodist instead of a Baptist? Or Pentecostal as opposed to Presbyterian?

Is it basically just what you've grown up with? Or is there something specific to your particular denomination? Or is it about the people and the service at your particular church and not the label that is put on it?

I'm not criticizing any one sect of christianity. I'm just curious.

Who decides right from wrong?

And also, if it is up to the individual person, then how do we truly know which perspective is the correct one? I mean what if Hitler was right and we have it all backwards?

How can one be sure when there are many different individuals with different views?

I mean, since God knows everything before-hand, we must have been hand-picked for salvation!

You know when we are caught up in the beauty of fellowship, how perfect Christians interact in love, and holiness and truth?

I feel so lucky to be a Christian and that I wasn't born in a sinful country like Afghanistan or Pakistan where I probably wouldn't be a Christian!

God knew me before I was born and placed me right here in the Bible Belt where the odds of me NOT being a Christian were almost zero!

Even people's pets are Christian Here! I'm living in a Christian Paradise! I am soooo content! Everybody I know is a Christian, my family and friends.... I am in HEAVEN! Everybody should be a Christian because it is the best religion in the universe!

I graduated from an overseas university some years back with a degree of Computer Science.

When I came back to my home country, the job market was bad for graduates in Computer Science. I was actually unemployed for a while as I could not secure jobs relating to IT. For me, I was adamant to establish myself in IT. I intended to get a job in IT so that I could be more proficient in IT. I was hoping to establish myself as an administrator or a programmer or an engineer.

However, as I could not even get an IT job relating to my degree, I was even willing to start low, as a technician in an IT field. I could do that as I know how to do some troubleshooting of spoilt computers and the operating systems. I even know how to assemble a computer.

Interesting article here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070330/ap_on_re/john_paul_sainthood

Please correct me if Im wrong - arent Catholics monotheists? Arent they only supposed to pray to God and God only? If thats the case, why does a convent of nuns pray to JPII for her to be cured? And, why, when she is "cured", does she attribute the miracle to JPII, when it is "obvious" that miracles come only from God??

And, why does this news only reach us now, when the miracle allegedly occurred in 2005 - two years ago? My opinion - it makes it that much harder to prove it wasnt a miracle at all, and as a result, JPII earns his "saint" status. What a crock... Either this woman wasnt suffering from Parkinson's as she alleges, or, she was simply misdiagnosed. Or, remission occurred - it is not unheard of. Certainly no miracle...

What say you, esteemed Y!A responders??

Matthew 1:16 "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus."
Luke 3:23 "And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli."
The bible is full of contradictions, explain how, even with just the small and fairly insignificant contradiction above, the bible can be the infallible word of god.

and the bible says all you gaybashing wannabe queerbeaters who cannot mind your own business are going to burn in hell for COMPLETELY ignoring everything Jesus said--I will pray for you, but it's not going to help unless you truly repent and change your ways

I am a Christian and I know I will never let any chip into my body. I'm not asking this to offend anyone, I'm just curious. In the Bible this will be known as the mark of the beast and people will have to have as a replacement for $$. I've already seen on CNN where people were putting chips in their hands as a mean of security for identification. Like I said, I'm just curious about who would actually do that?

First, if you don't know, educate yourself:

I'm a Christian, and I just don't see where my fellow Christians take offense and are outraged? What's the problem with making a likeness of Jesus out of chocolate? In fact, I thought the artwork's title, "My Sweet Savior" was a clever play on words.

I don't consider it to be sacreligious, and I don't take offense. Why should I be offended by it? Tell me!
