A cult is a group that demands to control the thoughts of it's followers, right?

Don't we see it over and over that so many people are incapable of independent thought besides the bible. I am talking logic here. Just plain common sense seems to evade these people.

I know that not all Christians are so brainwashed, so is it a particular denomination? By the way, how many here are Pentecostal? I have seen how those people view intelligence and independence.

If christians want intelligent design or creation in science books, then Bibles should have sciencetific statment

EXAMPLE: The material contained in this book, HOLY BIBLE is not accurate or proven to be true due to gaps in the books timeline, history and unofficial authers of the stories or charters in the stories in question. Please keep an open mind when reading this book and that there are other versions of the creation story.

If intelligent design or creationist groups want their views in science books, then I think it is only fare for science to have a level playing field. What do you think?

Why do they believe we would all want to go there? To a non-christian, the prospect of being stuck with a heaven load of christians for eternity would seem worse then hell itself. So why do they think we would want that? Can't think of anything worse

How would the world have changed if was the primary one for most of history? If the Romans somehow had pushed the Christians farther underground and they were never accepted? Or if another ancient religion became number one? A lot of the ancient religions weren't peaceful, so I think we can rule out that there would be no more wars.

Only serious and well-thought out answers, please. Think about the culture of the religion you're putting in the number one spot. In order for any religion to move enmass over the globe, force is needed. So, how would the world have changed?

A cousin of a person who goes to our church and her friend were travelling on the 401 headed for a church service in Mississauga. A man was walking along the 401 and they stopped and gave him a ride. The man got in the back seat and started to converse with them and told them Jesus is coming very very soon. Then the man vanished from inside the car. The two women were shaken up and pulled over. A police officer passing by stopped to see if they were OK. They told the officer what happened and the officer replied this is the 4th time this has been reported this week. The others recieved the message Jesus is coming back very soon and they were told very very soon. It has significance, as when the word verily is used in the Bible. I was very excited when I heard.

Blessings,

Daniel

This was obviously an angel visitation, I have the gift of discernment and can see angels and demons...so it is easy for me to believe, although for others it would be hard to believe.

Yes. In addition to millions of testimonies of people who know
God, there is undeniable, scientific evidence for his existence as well.
The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created
by natural means. This is a law because it has been demonstrated to
be true 100% of the time. But everything that exists is made of energy
in different forms. The only conclusion about the origin of energy in
the universe, in light of a scientific law, is that it must have been created
supernaturally. To say there is no God is to contradict a scientific law.
Honest people are forced by scientific observations and objectivity to
conclude that there is a God.
The second law of thermodynamics states that usable energy
cannot be increased in a closed system. Observation of our universe
shows that usable energy is decreasing like a clock winding down.
However, the universe, like a clock, cannot wind down unless it had
original usable energy. The only conclusion about the origin of this
usable energy is that it began supernaturally. There is a God.

The above link leads to an article about mothers who kill. How in the world is a mother able to harm her own children? Is the natural instinct to nurture and protect them missing in these mothers? And if they are God fearing (not saying all are, just hypothetical) why would they still kill innocent children? A baby can not defend itself. It only knows that this person is there to love them. Now, I am not completely pro life or completely pro choice, but this is just insane!! What is your opinion of this? How does it make you feel? I personally feel like crying when I see on my local news channel that a mother has killed her child or that a pregnant woman was attacked for the baby inside of her.

Why is evolution the main point of debate when making the argument for atheism when in fact there are many more profound arguments such as the ineffectiveness of prayer or the contradictions of religion etc. The theory of evolution is perhaps the least effective reason for me not believing in god

It seems to me that Himmler and Moses had a lot in common. Both thought it best to get rid of the children. This isn't the only genocide or ethnic cleansing event recorded in the bible.

I have noticed that you like to attack us, that rightfully believe in God, but we do not attack you for being atheists. Is that an outward projection of your own fear and self hatred?

And since Mom was a "virgin", did Jesus break his mother's hymen, thus deflowering her?

This is a serious question.

My question is general, why is it that some individuals will not others express themselves through their faith w/out criticism?
I know it is nothing new, for it i has been going on since the beginning-according to my beliefs-but why do you think we care so much about other's views and for some even their way of life. Here's a scenario, I am Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and throughout my entire life, I've heard many say "Catholics are always trying to preach to us about their beliefs", and such things. Myself and my family never preach to others, for we keep our religion private and close to our hearts. But the majority of my friends were protestants or jewish and ta few of the protestants were always trying to get me to go to their church (which I did) and would never reciprocate some would pick on me about certain things. Two would even go as far as to blatantly make fun of my beliefs. All I saw from those experiences was pure hypocritical behavior.

As I understand salvation, becoming a Christian through faith in the sacrificial work of Christ, such a person is supernaturally "born again", becoming a "new creation", indwelt by the Spirit of God and being led in the law of love-- while continuously being changed more and more into the likeness of Jesus.

Can a true believer, who has repented from his past way of life, really stay the same old nasty person?

Surely even the most evil people who ever lived (Hitler, Stalin etc.) don't deserve to be horrifically punished for eternity. I am of the opinion that most religious people have really thought about what ETERNITY really is.

Hey christians out there seeking truth I have a intresting few scriptures that I want you to check out and tell me what they mean.

Isaiah chapter 29 verses 10 through 24

I believe that it is speaking of the book of Mormon and its coming forth to change the world and how much peace it will bring and light into the darkness. How learned men who are ignorant cannot read because of there hard hearts and preistcrafts. Those who are unlearned can read because they are not currupted.

And if Isaiah is not speaking of the book of mormon then what book is he speaking of? Considering the fact that it is pointing right to our dispensation.

Good luck
