Why do they believe we would all want to go there? To a non-christian, the prospect of being stuck with a heaven load of christians for eternity would seem worse then hell itself. So why do they think we would want that? Can't think of anything worse

The Heaven I believe in HAS all the cultures in it. In this Heaven, all good people who believe in a GOD who loves us, by any other name) will be there. Actually, my mother always was a grand person, religious, but not a cram it down your throat religious person. SHE insited she would NOT go to the Heaven that has golden streets, etc. as told to be in the Old Testament. She insisted she was going to the Happy Hunting Grounds, where she could live in peace with everyone and all the animals. That's where I intend to wind up, God willing. I saw her, not long ago (oh, she was born in 1904, so she's been 'living challenged' a while), and she was just beaming with happiness, on a walk, and she stopped by to see me. My mom was Cherokee, a healer, and I guess she went to the Happy Hunting Grounds!

If my Dogs are not there, I don't want to go.

A man & his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying & that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl & the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He & the dog walked toward the gate & as he got close, he saw a man at a desk to one side. > > When he was close, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?" "This is Heaven, sir," the man answered. "Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked. Of course, sir. Come right in & I'll have some ice water brought right up."" The man gestured & the gate began to open. "Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked. "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets." The man thought a moment, turned back toward the road & continued the way he had been going with his dog. After another long walk, at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree & reading a book. "Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?" "Yeah sure, there's a pump over there, come on in." "How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog. "There should be a bowl by the pump." They went through the gate & sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl & took a long drink himself, and then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he & the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. "What do you call this place?" the traveler asked. "This is Heaven," he answered. "Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too." "Oh, you mean the place with the Gold Street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell." "Doesn't it make you mad that they use your name like that?" "No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

I am pagan. I'm sorry, but I couldn't enjoy eternal bliss. Which is why I prefer the idea of reincarnation. That way, I get a chance to enjoy (and sometimes suffer) every aspect of life. Life is learning. I do believe that there may be a resting place for those who wish to take a break between lives, but I don't think I could rest there. I'm too hyper. I'd want to move on as soon as possible. If the Christian Heaven exists, I hope they would empathize with me and let me return.

Peace be with you.

If 'Heaven' were multi-cultural and full of all different religions, it wouldn't be the Christian 'Heaven'. Apparently, 'Heaven' is a members-only kind of place where only Christians who are "saved" are allowed to spend eternity. Therefore it would be impossible for the Christian 'Heaven' to contain multiple religions. I guess we're all 'doomed', then.

I couldn't agree more with ZCT (your first answerer). It is impossible that a single paradise exists that would make everyone in existance sublimely happy, because different things make different people happy. Then again, most Christians are mindless zombies, so it kind of fits.

I personally believe that Heaven was invented by man as a coping mechanism so as not to have to fear death. It gives the weak minded something to look forward to.

I happen to be a Christian and know for a fact that there are any number of people who really, actually, factually don't want to go there. Your reason is only one of several I have heard provided. Let's look at a few others:

1. If God is who the Bible describes Him to be, I don't like Him.
2. If heaven is where God rules, I don't like His rules, so I wouldn't like His kingdom.
3. I have heard a lot of Christians think that heaven will be a lot of singing and harp plunking forever. Sounds like hell to me.

Points one and two are honest, usually, and are usually the result of either a misunderstanding of God's nature or else just plain old "self-determinism" or selfishness. The third point is simply lacking in understanding. The Bible describes the saints as "ruling and reigning with Christ," and as having "authority over angels" and "cities." We will be doing things. As for your first point, Christians seem to be an irritant to you, and for that reason I can't blame you for not wanting what would seem to be torture. Think of it this way, though, the reason for your irritation probably lies in not sharing anything in common with us. Were you to believe as we do, heaven will be a joy.

We can put it this way.
God noes very well that hell is a place where any being will be tortured over the limits, burnt to bits and scorched with sulphur.
So, heaven is there for the righteous ones.

Believe me. NO one would want to go to hell. U will receive eternal suffering and tourment.

The main event in Heaven is not the people around you, it's direct visual access to God! Who cares that I'll be there with you, You'll be having Dinner with Jesus! And Noah! And all the Christians who seem to be condemning or annoying will have a new perspective when they're in Heaven. The alternative is also a great reason to want to go to heaven.

This is a great question! Ha! I love it.

I kind of agree with the last guy that answered though.

Heaven is whatever you want it to be. Whatever you would enjoy most.
At least that's a nice, comforting way to look at it, which is what heaven if for anyway. Right?

Heaven is something that is created by man in order to answer questions that they cannot. It's security and comfort. Man thinks that he is to great to not have all of the answers. Why cannot people accept that maybe we just die and rot- gone forever. Man wants to place himself higher than all of nature.

Great question. This one will be hreat to use at dinner tonight!

I guess everyone has different ideas about what heaven is like.
I'm a Christian, but I'm not so sure heaven will be a "Christians only" place. I guess I do sort of think that people who know Who Jesus is will be sort of "special" though.
Those "Christians" who think that they are somehow better than other people because they "know Jesus" while those others do not, really don't know Him at all.....

Well, it depends on what you consider heaven really is. If you consider heaven to be another life, like recarnation, then I think that's what happens to you. If you consider heaven to be all of your dreams to come true, then that might happen as well. It doesn't nessicarily mean that you're stuck up in the clouds, with wings and a halo, with a whole bunch of old dead christian people. LOL.
