Isn't this a false dichotomy? First of all, it's a tired argument that the gospel of John has gnostic slant. To arrive at that conclusion requires a very loose and creative interpretation that is so implicitly (if at all) in the text that it renders it meaningless.

Other commentators say that Gnosticism makes more sense or is more accurate? I seriously doubt those people have anything more than superficial knowledge of Gnosticism and it's supposed influence into the new testament gospels.

I say false dichotomy above because your question doesn't capture the influence from other texts such as the gospel of Mark which wouldn't lean toward Gnostic or Pauline interpretation.

I'm Gnostic because the gospels were written by Jesus' disciples. And there translations are recent and uncorrupted by any religion. I call that accurate that's why I believe it.

What is a Pauline Christian?

Kitz: Gnostics follow the newly discovered gospels of Jesus found in 1945 in the Nag Hammadi desert in Egypt. So, if we Gnostics follow Jesus then that means we're not Christian?

I am a Christian only. I follow the teachings of Christ.

There should be no other labels.

I'm not really Christian, but I do lean towards Gnosticism.

It's far more accurate and not nearly as corrupt as Paulianity.
