Father K helpfully told me that C of E soldiers and sailors could go to an Eastern Orthodox priest if there was no C of E priest available (interesting!), but were there special dispensations for PoW camps if no priest were available, or did prisoners just have to go without Communion?

If a question asks for answers from people who believe as they do, why do non-believers feel compelled to answer? For instance, if a Christian asks a question of fellow Christians, why would an atheist or anyone other than Christian answer? Do they feel threatened by someone who believes other than they do?

I'm taking a World Religions class.
And I know that there's no actual "definition" for religion.
With that, what do you think is religion?
Remember, that all religions don't have a god.
Such as in Buddhism.

we all have one don't we? that part of us that gets impatient and wants to shove old ladies out of the way in line at the grocery store, or run cars off the road when they cut us off--things that we don't even recognize as being in our nature to think and feel and yet for moments here and there "something" comes over us and that imp inside us rises, making us want to lash out at our boss or go on a three day drinking binge in the middle of the week--not that we act on these impulses, but the thoughts that cross the mind can scare you--do you blame the devil? Or do you recognize that we all have this monster inside that we keep shackled and bound and hidden away in the dark? I named my monster excelsior, what would you name yours?

You can't be sinless merely by not raping and killing and being a nice person. Because the concept of spiritual purity has no meaning to an atheist, why would they have any reason to think that behaviors like premarital sex are sinful. Since when does "popular morality" say to love your enemies and turn the other cheek. If you love someone because of how they behave, as part of a impersonal collective group rather than as an individual, or because you just want to marry them, that's not true, unconditional love. That's why everyone's a sinner and needs to be forgiven by God, because it would be impossible to meet those standards through your own effort.

This question goes out to questions. Everyone else will say he doesn't exist so don't worry. I don't need that and your wasting my time and your own.

I think he's the prettiest creation ever. Even says so in the bible somewhere. It's a sad antagonist story. He represents what soceity is now. So arrogant and proud yet foolish. How do you feel about this guy? Do you feel sorry for him? How should we as Christians feel about him.

All words have meanings, and most words have several meanings if not many meanings. So why is anyone so absolutely sure of what most of the sentences in the Bible actually mean? If those who us the word literal actually mean reading the Bible by understanding some exact meaning of the words, then who gets to pick and choose what words really mean that are in the Bible.
If on the other hand a person decides on there own what passages in the Bible mean, then I have no argument in that case. But if you were taught in church what the passages mean, that which someone else says is the meaning, they have a right to that opinion. But like any opinion, it is not a universally accepted meaning of those words. So maybe you should stop preaching for a minute or two based on some preacher opinion.
After all, one of Jesus's main ideas is that a person can and should have a personal relationship with God. In other words, you don't need a church or a preacher to tell you the story of Jesus.

For those of you who attend Church...other than the actual Service itself, what do you look for in the physical structure? Things like decor, style of furnishings, amenities....what adds to your worship experience in terms of the building? For example, what do you think about a waterfall in a Church building that is incorporated into a functional baptistry? Would that add or subtract from your worship and receiving the Word?

This person is trying to hack me, as is evidenced by her Yahoo 360 page where I supposedly have commented, but did not type anything after she came to my page harassing me. She has hacked me before and deleted two of my accounts. She also admitted to it, and I have that email saved as evidence. I also sent it to my friends for safekeeping, because I knew she would try it again. Since December, for no reason I know, this person has been stalking me and sending me hate mail. When I had a miscarriage, she sent me emails laughing about it, and calling it a terrorist saying it's good that the "little terrorist" died and that I, the mother of two who would never harm a child, would have had an abortion anyway. This person is also the one who clones Terry G and I. I want everyone to know, if I "disappear", it's because she hacked me and did something to my system, JUST LIKE LAST TIME. Here's the link.
