Many Christians here act bewildered as to why many atheists seem bitter. Surely Christians can appreciate that atheists are looked down upon for reasons that we think are totally undeserving. Christians have a history of being persecuted. Granted, atheists in the U.S. have not had any physical violence inflicted on us, and we still have many freedoms. But we have come close to losing some freedoms that we hold very dear, such as the freedom to conduct science without free of political bias, and to ensure that science is taught correctly in public schools. And this doesn't even include the fact that atheists have lowest chance of being elected to public office of any other group of people.

Finally, I encourage Christians to pay more attention to the variety of statements atheists make here. A lot of what we say is not bitter.

Irrespective of race, shade of skin, religion or ethnic origin, mankind is basically the same.

The Bible indicates we are God-conscious. We see God at work in nature. We sense our smallness and unworthiness. Just as babies need and cry for milk, man cries for God. We were made for Him and need Him.

Newly discovered tribes seek to worship or appease a "supreme being", who the Bible says is God.

Why do so many people in danger pray to God? Who put that desire there? Often those asserting that there is no God blame Him for catastrophies or tragedies. Think of 9/11. Why blame a non-existent God?

Man is aware of God because he was created by God to know and answer to Him.

Could this story make sense if we say that Satan is not a conscious being, but is only the bad feelings (for want of a better word), like wanting to murder somebody, we must all overcome? If we act on these bad feelings, we get guilt, self pity, and other negative emotions sending us in a downward spiral. Maybe hell is these negative emotions and heaven is the release from these emotions.
If the bible was looked at from this point of view, would it make a difference in Christianity?

Wanting to murder somebody is just an example, if you prefer, just substitute it with the seven deadly sins, or whatever negativity you want.

My best friend is Morman but I realize God never wanted us to be alone on our spiritual walk, so I really just want a friend who can help deepen my relationship with God.

Where did it come from?
"Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil," says the Bible. Guilty sinners hate God's searchlight of holiness. Like insects we shrink back under the filthy stone of our own sinfulness. Our sins make us moral cowards.

Finding God starts by admitting failure and guilt. Jesus taught that conviction of sin precedes forgiveness and escape from judgement. God, who fashioned our conscience, speaks to us through the Bible more clearly than a satellite transmits to a television set! His message is that we need His pardon and cleansing.

Conscience overcomes excuses for not believing in God. An atheiest, who rejected the Ten Commandments, turned to Christ because his conscience troubled him for having broken them. God distrubs our conscience. But guilty conscience is not enough: to be forgiven a person must turn to Jesus Christ through personal repentance and trust.

I'm a Dutch guy, living in Romania. I don't know if it's a cultural thing or a religious thing. But maybe somebody knows something about Holy Water.

Anyway, a priest comes to my door, he wants to sell me Holy Water. 10 dollars for a bottle. He tells me to sprinkle it on my walls, then God will bring luck to my apartment.

It made me wonder if this is really how God works. Does he have 'precision bombs of luck' ? If I spray the water on my walls, are my neighbors safe too, since they share the same walls?

And a little extra question: He told me the water was cheap, because if I mix it with other water, that water also becomes Holy. Should I throw the water into the ocean to bring luck to the whole planet?

The Bible verses Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18 mentions the Book of Jasher, why was this book not included in the Bible?

(Joshua 10:13) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

(2 Samuel 1:18) (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

The goddess of the sea and the moon. She is the mother archetype and the
provider of wealth. As the one who gives life and sustains the Earth, she is
extremely generous and giving. She is the nurturing energy that sooth anyone.
But like the ocean, when she is angry, she can be implacable. Therefore, she
represents the mother who gives love, but does not give her power away. Yemaya is also the owner of the collective subconcious and ancient wisdom, since she holds the secrets that are hidden in the sea. She is often invoked in fertility rituals for women and in any ritual concerning women's issues.

Jesus Christ is unique. Socrates taught for 40 years, Plato for 50, Aristotle for 40 and Jesus for just over 3.

Jesus was not an artist, poet or musician, yet He had inspired great paintings, literature, and music. Call as witnesses Raphael, Michelangelo, da Vinci, Dante, Milton, Donne, Haydn, Handel, Beethoven, Bach and Mendelssohn.

Remember: no media coverage about Him, BUT: All those books! Worldwide acclaim! Unrivalled teaching! Healings and raising the dead! Billions of followers! Feeding of thousands from scraps! Amazing miracles! Unprecedented humility! Sinless, spotless, and righteous life! Love for sinner's! Substantiated claims to be God!
