Well, in light of a couple or question today, and a couple of answers, I figured I would pose this question.

First, in an earlier answer, a christian eluded to the belief that Freemasonry was linked to satan, paganism, the occult, and sorcery. And, according to this same answer, christians, at least "true ones" would not want to be associated with this organization.

Now, another question made the statement that the founding fathers of this country intended to build a christian nation.

Now, it is a known fact most of the founding fathers were Freemasons.

So, are we really supposed to believe that a group of men with ties to, basically, the occult, intended on building a christian nation?

Just wondered, cause that kind of strikes me as odd.

In general, God created us for one purpose only--He loves us and He wants us to love Him back.
In specific, why God created you ? Are you different from others ? Do you rely on the differences to love God ?

Only serious answer please!

I used to watch I believe it was either a television show or a series of movies about 2 teenagers and one young boy who did like exploration type things. Than they got caught in a storm and got taken back to bible times. I have been looking for these for my children but cannot remember the name of the series. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

When you discover that common denominator, you will discover what God, our father in Heaven, really wants us to do.

(Most of Jesus' teachings related to the answer to this question.)

God makes a book of rules. Everybody breaks those rules, because the rules are too strict. When we break a rule, he calls it 'sinning'. When we sin, we get punished. For every sin, the punishment is the same: Hell. Unless we allow a dude named Jesus in our hearts, then sinning doesn't matter anymore, and you're forgiven.

If it's impossible not to sin, and every sin is punished the same...and there is only one way out: Jesus...Then what is the point of having rules?

If the message is: "everybody sins anyway, so you need Jesus", why all this drama of making up hundreds of rules that can't be followed?

Why not just: "Breathing is a sin, so you're a bad person who needs Jesus"?

Give me a lyric (not a whole song) that makes you say 'AHA! Something that moves you - whatever your belief. For example:
"Like a bird on a wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free" - Leonard Cohen in "Bird on a Wire"

Hi, I appreciate your opinion on this matter. Sometimes we just don't realize what good times we are having at the moment until the inevitable change occurs. I guess this all goes back to living in the moment. I know it is easy to say but to actually do it is difficult, what with the changing and hustling world we live in. "They" say meditation, putting into your thoughts only positive thinking, being at peace with your God, all contribute to a connectedness to our creation. But dang, I don't really know if I have ever really felt it. I don't think I have and that is sad.....sort of. I feel I have potential though and I am still on my journey. Have any of you had that moment of clarity where you actually know who you are? Please let me know, if you wouldn't mind sharing it

I love my church here in Rhode Island! I think many people have the wrong view of what church is in this day. People form their opinions about church by; what others have said, what they have seen on TV, or by their up-bringing. But, many don't even go into a Christian church to check it out for themselves, or they do and figure that they are all the same because they are a "Christian" church. If you are looking for an awesome church with people from all walks of life, come and check it out, www.nlwcenter.org.

I beleive in the bible but I do not claim to know all the answers.
I think it is very well possible that evolution could have happened, Heavenly Father can do ANYTHING! It is possible even that evolution is true and Heavenly Father knew it would pose an issue for those who beleive in the bible and it was another way to test our faith. I like not knowing all the answers, it makes me humble! The Bible talks about everything being created in seven days, how do we know that is the same 7 days that we know to be 7 days now? I like to hear peoples thoughts on questions that have so many answers!
