I grew up a Christian. I've been to many churches. My brother-in-law is a minister, and I've been to his church several times. I'm an atheist and I didn't just decide to be one on a whim.
You overestimate the ability for them to "blow my socks off".

You buy the plane ticket from Houston to RI, and I will go. I have been to quite a few services over the years. I go to some when I know they are going to be talking about something controversial. Once, it was advertised before Election '05 here that one of the Baptist churches was going to dedicate the sunday service before election day talking about why people should support the Gay Marriage Amendment on the ballot that year.

This is dangerously close to being an advertisement.
FYI: Most atheists have already gone to churches. In some cases, many different churches. Attending yours will not make the slightest difference.
Copngratulations to your pastor for being able to produce a consistently appealing emotional performance. That is, however all it is; an emotional performance.

Church is not a place, it's a community. People shouldn't have to go to it, it should live around them. You are worshiping a structure. That makes this "church" your idol. Watch out!

I went to two dozen or more "Christian" churches during the years prior to my becoming a confirmed atheist, from the storefronts to the multi-million-dollar monuments to religious ego. All pretty much had the same message: Mankind is unclean, unworthy, directionless and lost without gods. Nothing man does is his own doing, all is done by gods, and all according to a "plan." You can only save yourself by prayer, sacrifice, and large contributions to the collection plate. What a crock. No, thanks. I enjoy my apostasy, and I would rather spend a sunny Sunday morning at the beach, watching women in dental-floss swimwear. But thanks for the offer.

Sounds like you attend a great church where the Holy Spirit is working in a mighty way. If I ever go to RI I would like to visit your church!
God bless you!

No, thank you. I live too far away, and besides, I'm just not into church.
Been there, done that. Unless I found a Unitarian Universalist church close by that I really liked, I'll keep my socks on. [g]

I've been in a church. And it didn't knock my socks off. Plus, I'm on the other side of the country.

Yes, I can't wait to get there either. It's so good to be in God's presence with His people, singing praises and to learn more of God's Word.
The Christian life is so exciting and fulfilling.
I am so glad that I belong to Jesus.

You are incorrect. I do not form my opinion about church from what others have said, but from what Scripture says!
Show me once where Jesus went to church; the man you claim is G-d!
He attended synagogue.
So, now tell me...since your G-d's Son is Jewish, you don't find it odd that you practice a different religion...& still think you're going to Heaven?
