We make a big fuss over Christmas. We spend billions of dollars and go insane for about six weeks!

But what is the most important and spiritual time of year for Christians?

I have trouble deciding that very thing ... which is more important, gifts or candy? I flip-flop over that very issue often

lol Just kidding

To answer you, which one is more important, your big brother's birthday or the day he saved your life? That'd be a hard one huh, because both are important :)

Oh, for the "it's all pagan holidays anyway" folks, perhaps Christmas was so picked to dissuade followers, but Easter falls because of the Jewish holiday Passover when Jesus was crucified ... it's why they had to take Him down so soon. It's not based on a pagan celebration, it's based on His actual death and resurrection.

For me, both.
The reason is simple. You cannot have an ending without a beginning. While it is important to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, it is equally as important to celebrate His birth.
The promise of the Holy Spirit would not have happened if Jesus had not been crucified, died and been buried. That in turn would not have happened had Jesus not been born.
So you see my friend, both are equally important to me. Good question though.

Yes, we make a big deal about Christmas..but for all the wrong reasons. We don't celibrate the birth of our savior, or I should say most people don't, we celebrate greed and "I want...I want." Easter is most important to me because it's a time to remember what Christ did for us. He gave his life for ours.

It should be Easter.

Both are very relevant of course to the Christian, but Easter is when we think about the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. - which has much significance for me, as I think afresh how much the Lord Jesus suffered for me, and took the punishment which I deserved - on the cross.
This demands a response!

Unfortunately, none of them realize that both days are pagan holidays that the church incorporated, so the pagans they conquered could be more easily swayed into their religion. :) Jesus had nothing to do with either of those days until the Catholics said he did.

Edit - to the naysayer below... Are you suggesting that the easter bunny hopped past Jesus' tomb at his resurrection, and that's how it came to be? Look it up. Easter just happens to be near the time of Passover. It's not on it. It's a pagan fertility festival. This is well documented, and is not a matter for debate.

Your church has lied to you all your life. Look it up. Research it yourself. You will be rather surprised to see just how much you DON'T know about your "beliefs"...

None of them are important to me...they both miss direct people the wrong way.
Christmas is not Jesus birthday.
Easter is not important for Christians...the last supper is the command by Jesus to 'keep doing this.' this is the important time of the year, Good Friday.
Peace....

Nothing wrong with having fun....Ho,Ho,Ho and the like, but Easter is the Resurrection of the Lord. The focal point of everything.Nothing wrong with Jelly beans and eggs and bunnies.
Remember what He did for you and me and how he was proved true through that resurrection...Physically.

Easter without question. It is the day the Lord rose from the grave conquering death and freeing us from sin.
