Exactly. I believe I have found truth in Christ but I am OK with different path's people are taking. I want to tell what my God tells about other beliefs because I do not want anyone to miss out the life that God offers. But I respect the gift of free will and the choices people make even when they are so different than mine. : )

People are afraid of what they don't know. It's usually only ignorant, uneducated people who do so. Religion is a fascinating area of study with such a great variety of differing creeds to learn from.

Idealized xenophobia. One fellow on a board called "Stormfront" put it like this: "If you're not a Christian, than my religion is better then yours."
That sort of mindset infects mony faiths, particularly the Abrahamic ones.

I don't. I just know that having a relationship with Jesus has changed my life and I have my testimony. He has been so faithful to me and my family. He has changed me for the better, not worse. Also I have Eternal Life to look forward to when this life is over. Blessings dear one. I pray you find the Truth - Jesus Christ - He alone is Worthy.

Fear
Many people don't view religion as an avenue of curiousity - they view it as a security blanket, a protective totem.

I guess you could think of it as an extension of the whole "my clique is better than your clique" mentality that a lot of people have in middle and high school. I guess some people just continue with that kind of thinking throughout their whole lives.

The pitiful need of some people to place themselves above others. "My "God" is the only"God"! And anyone who doesn't believe me is damned!" Small minded bast@#ds.

To assert the fact that you are right and everyone else is wrong and will be damned to Hell. That about sums it up.
