Joseph’s death is not specifically mentioned in the Scriptures. But it seems that he did not survive Jesus. Had he lived beyond Passover time of 33Â C.E., it is unlikely that the impaled Jesus would have entrusted Mary to the care of the apostle John at John 19:26, 27 where it says: "Therefore Jesus, seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing by, said to his mother: “Woman, see! Your son!” Next he said to the disciple: “See! Your mother!” And from that hour on the disciple took her to his own home."

This is a good question because, to my knowledge I don't know either and I have read the Bible many times in my life. Maybe this is one of those things that God does not tell us or like all the others he was dead at the time. But, really good question. that's something I am going to have to study about. Thank You! God Bless You and Always fight the good fight.

Actually, since the early chapters of Luke, Joseph is not mentioned in Scripture. Church tradition has it that he probably died before the crucifixion of Christ.

He had already died by this time. That is why Jesus gave His mother to John while on the cross.
