When a Christian calls someone a "moron" or any other derrogatory comment it is rather degrading to other Christians and it is sinful because we are told "not to judge" others. As a Although we know that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD, a Christian who has sinned publicly has an example given by the Apostle Paul to ask for the prayers of the congregation so that he might be forgiven those sins. Have a great weekend!

EDIT:
If you are not a Christian and would like to begin a BIBLE study please send a note and I will arrange to study with you.

Tuberoot,
We are not to make that decision or JUDGE someone else's intellect or decision making. That is no way to begin a working relationship that might alloow you to lead anyone to Christ as HE told us to do in Matthew 28 (the Great Commission). This is a continual task for every Christian. Please keep that in mind.
Thanks,

Well, since a Christian can say the word 'moron' I think that they can.

Let's look at the word 'moron' first:
1. a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment.
2. Psychology. a person of borderline intelligence in a former classification of mental retardation, having an intelligence quotient of 50 to 69.

So see? It's applicable to some of the people I have met. And it's even applicable to me at times. I use poor judgement at times too.

If the name fits, why not?

No more than it is moronic to call someone a Christian.

...having read thru the Bible and the New Testament several times... I can't remember Jesus calling anyone a "moron"... He did use the word "fool"... as some were clearly, fools... but "moron"...nah... don't see it. (but be very careful calling someone a "fool"...Scripture says you place "yourself" in jeopardy of hell-fire as it is an awesome "word" to place upon the spirit of anyone... Why not pray for them that God handle it and free yourself of the burden....

Good question.

Read Matthew 23 and soak in Jesus's passionate tirade against the Pharasees.

Then cf. Matthew 5:22

Well if the person is a moron and they are not suppose to lie, I would say it fair.

I'd say it's more "Christian" to BE a moron.

Just joking folks. But seriously. I have plenty of "Christian" friends, and they aren't morons. They just don't question their religion.

I've also been called a moron by plenty of Christians, and that's fine. What they really mean by that is that I DO question their religion.

Yes.

Jesus defined his people as those who believed in him. Nothing more, nothing less.

Even bad Christians, doomed to hell, are still Christians, according to Jesus.

morons do really exist.

Psalm 39:8
Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.

Psalm 74:22
Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long.

Those who mock God are called fools or morons by the Bible.
