I am not all for one...Christians..Athiest..Agnostic...Jewish..ect. I appreciate them all and feel they all have valid points...One is no better than another.
I think some are extra sensitive/passionate about their beliefs and see antagonism where there is none.

And you're just making yourself look bad. Hey, look, I admit, I'm the one she's talking about. Instead of leaving this as an email (like a mature person would) she's dragging this on the board.

Who's intolerant now? You only want pat on the back answers. Ten to one says you pick the person who bashes Christians because it makes you feel good. I answered your questions in email, but you drag it on the board. How childish!

Tell me, do you get all up in arms when someone askes a question (an honest question) about Christianity or another religion and an Atheist bashes them in an answer? I bet not. You're a hypocrit. YOu only care when it's a Christian who isn't bowing and scrapping to you.

Your question could have been worded better. "this was the best they could come up with???"

Some people will be rude and others will be nice no matter what the question. A lot of people react to the type of question though. If it is an obviously sincere and thought out question that has not been asked 100 times already you will get better, but perhaps fewer answers. If it is a question that has an edge on it people will have an edge in their comments (I mean answers). Had you asked your question this way your answers may have been different:

Most Easter celebrating families have colored eggs, colored egg hunts, etc. What is the correlation between Christ's resurrection the Easter bunny?

As you observed, not all non-believers who post to this Forum are hate-mongers. Likewise, judging by some of their written words, some, but not all, self-professed Christians seem to have wandered away from the “love thy neighbor” reservation.

Please don’t make the mistake of extrapolating the behaviors in this Forum by believers or non-believers as representative of the populations of believers or non-believers. What you observe herein is a social aberration of the real populations of these groups. It is both interesting yet sad to see how some will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer.

i'm new right here yet this stuck my eye rapidly. that's unhappy that this instructor did not do more suitable study into Paganism and Wicca. Paganism became between the unique RELIGIONS earlier christianity got here alongside. Pagan is more suitable an earth faith than Wicca yet they're religions. i have self assurance the Wiccan faith became regarded as a faith by the international at a convention in 1997 (?) at a large summit assembly on Wiccan faith. the US authorities even recognizes it - the warriors who omit are literally allowed to have the pentagram positioned on their headstones the position it became no longer regarded earlier. You dealt with it properly! more suitable powerful to no longer draw interest to your self by arguing with him. we are no longer thoroughly out of the closet yet as a lot human beings nonetheless imagine we do sacrafices, and so on. Your instructor became being very SMALL MINDED! perhaps at the same time as there's a thanks to get to the kind earlier everybody else, you may want to go away him a e book on Paganism or Wicca. And there are countless different sects of the Pagan faith - jointly with Hinduism. The Celts are a large sect. And that's understood they got here from round India earlier settling in Western Europe. perhaps go away you instructor a itemizing of books he can examine to larger powerful tell him so he would not look like a biggoted jerk back. lol

I will often point that Homosexuality is against scripture, like eating shrimp, and that under Darwinian evolutionary theory Homosexuality is a sign of a defect in a species.

In every one of these posts I will also point out that we are not supposed to judge and we are to love everyone as we love ourselves.

Yet people will always attack me for being "homophobic" because I point out facts that they don't like.

I think everyone, myself included, can get sarcastic or lose patience with a totally ignorant question or answer or with someone who judges people based on their stereotypical perceptions.

That is just people. There are no good people there are only people who think they are and that they have the right to enforce their ideology on everyone else.

For an example, it is kind of funny when a man who dresses like a woman complains about how their lifestyle is not accepted when at the same time the transvestite has refused to accept the other person's life style. Both a total refusal of acceptance.

PS: It is kind of sad, but, all of us do it. This might be a better example of refusal of life style. My wife and I were at a very large and popular amusement park with some friends who were gay. We got on a water ride and they took their shirts off. I left mine on because I don't look like I did when I was 22. They both had these really thick nipple rings and it totally grossed out my wife and the other people in our little round boat. It didn't bother me. When we got off the ride they left their shirts off and a lot of people were grossed out and made really rude comments and then a park attendant asked them to put their shirts on.

People all have "limits" on what they find acceptable and no matter how open minded you are you have a limit somewhere. My wife's limit was when they pulled their shirts off. My limit is way further in that regard, but I have one.

Everyone has limits and when that limit is reached some people react with sarcasm, disdain, disrespect, etc. Look at the answers to this question for examples.

Some people will react violently when their limit is reached, even if the other person did not mean any real "harm" in what they did. A guy who gets into an accident outside of a gay club and then uses inappropriate language because he is angry so the people at the club beat him half to death even though I knew the guy and he was gay. I have seen that happen.

I used to desk clerk at a fast sheet joint across from one of the biggest gay clubs in Detroit. I have seen a heck of a lot of bigotry from people who accuse others of being bigoted and I have seen people attacked just because they were gay.

Christ was right. There are no good people so the only thing we can do is love each other as we love ourselves, even when we hurt each other.

Because it takes an intelligent person to answer intelligently and well..... you know what kind of person responds in a nasty way.

I guess some of them just get defensive over simple questions & feel they must make some kind of nasty rebuttal. Maybe they are possessed by some kind of evil!?

I can answer the Eggs to Easter correlation:

I've got chickens, and in the spring they start laying so many damn eggs, we don't know what to do with them all.

So- painting them and hiding them around the garden for kids just sorta' makes sense when you've got a surplus.

that is nowhere near an accurate representative sample. you will have to conduct a thorough study over many questions, poll the respondents and analyze the data over the course of a few weeks to months to get a better picture of the actual number.
