Yesterday I was harassed by two girls that I never even met before. I was in line at school getting my lunch and they started to jiggle my backpack. They told me that I should my sh*t inside, not on the outside pockets. They were cussing and treating me as if I did something wrong to them. Everytime I would defend myself they would harass me more.

What are the best ways to avoid and or get out of confrontational situations at school?

Wednesdays are my slow days at work. I have only two things to do and 8 hours to do it. Therefore, when I am done I am bored. Also, I sometimes get bored doing one of the things I have to do. Another thing, my desk is not located next to my coworkers so I do not interact with them. This contributes to my boredom.

Well earlier I asked a question about finding a good prank I could play on my friend because he placed some sexually graphic pictures in my notebook (which I opened in class btw). This was in retaliation for me changing his wallpaper to an avatar picture (non explicit). Someone told me to write him a fake love letter and I did. Now he is worked up and showed me the letter. He said that I was the only person he could trust. I am stuck!!!! what do I do?

I believe in giving good customer service, even though I know it's part of the job that some customers seem to think this is an excuse to be rude and expect to be ars*e-licked. In most customer service jobs your are supposed to put up with this attitude but I am so glad to be working for a place where our mangaer doesn't expect us to put up with any crap, even if it means losing a customer.
It would be great to know your views on the statement given in the question.

It's so hard not to keep your mouth shut. You hear an interesting conversation, then you without thinking butt in. Making other people mad, I apologized, but they seem forgiving, but they are still angry.

I call out all the answers to a test and it annoys people.

when someone asks a question in I just blurt out the answer, they say could you shut up noone asked you, when i really wanted to help.

I realize that this is a bad habit. And I don't know when to shut up. This is really hard, I won't stopp talking. And butt in other peoples business.

It's getting hard to stop. And everytime I do this I promise to punish myself.

How can i stop?

this is my first year as a maried woman, and i wanted to make everything special. we have invited all the family for christmas dinner, this includes my new mother-in-law for the first time. i wante to impress everyone(including his mom) and bought a whole new lot of tableware. what i mean by table wear, is that i have bought, a new christmas table cloth, with a runner to match, place mats to match, and napkins to match, with napkin rings.i was really pleased with these, and wanted to see how they all would look on the day, so i set most of the table up. when i asked my husband what he thought, he just replied " yes, its ok". he didnt seem too enthusiastic so i asked him what was wrong. he said that if i wanted him to be honest, he would tell me. he then said that the napkins were not very practical( not the kind of material that you could wipe your mouth on if need be!) isaid that i could also get some paper ones too if someone needed one. he said i am defeating the object.what now?

At my dysfunctional employer, they have put in a position of corporate policeman. I have to see that people are following the rules and report them if they are not. Needless to say I have got alot of enemies but unfortunately I do not know who they are.

My boss pulls me in the office about once a month and tells me he is got all kinds of people complaining about me. I ask him who they are and he will not tell me. He says he is sworn to privacy, so he can continue to get feedback from staff. I then asked him for more details, so I could do better next time. He would not give details because then I could find out who is complaining about me. He just told me to clean up my act.

I can't quit, jobs are hard to find. What should I do?

My best friend somehow always ends up paying for herself. She is broke (a poor Walmart employee saving up for college). She's had to end several relationships b/c they guy kept taking her to restaurants & she finally couldn't afford it anymore.

How did it become common for the woman to pay? I have asked all my guy friends & they all think if a guy never pays for the girl, you are just two friends hanging out & it isn't a date. I know I'd feel quite comfortable explaining that I'd rather go out Tues b/c I like to have my date nights on Fri/Sat. I'd also discuss w/ a guy friend restaurant choices & suggesting much cheaper alternatives.

Women's lib people say you should offer to split it. Being from the south, the guys would blow you off & that would be it. They would pay. But on a first date, if the guy doesn't pay--is it a date? B/c for years that was my way of determining if he was into me. A casual wanna grab food? He just hungry, I paid for mine. A date he paid. Thoughts anyone?

I was never very good about ignoring people. I always thought it was strange when people work (and sit) inches from each other day after day at the office but manage to completely ignore each other. They view their coworker as someone who is not worthy of their time or attention.

Recently I was forced to share an office with someone in a very small room and she managed to act like I did not even exist. I was always sitting only a foot from her. I always wondered why she would not speak to me and how she was able to completely ignore me and a variety of others she was so close to physically.

How about you?

If you are a guy, tell me how you are gentlemanly to ladies. If you are a girl, tell me if you want a guy to be chivalrous to you. Any opinion would be welcome, including why you think chivalry should no longer be displayed, or why you think some girls get mad when a guy becomes chivalrous, or what kind of etiquette do you wish guys had...etc. :P Thanks!

Let me start by saying I'm a non smoker, so if I affend any of the smokers out there, I'm sorry. That's not my intention. I want to know how people feel about smoking/smokers in semi public areas. An example would be the mall. No one is allowed to smoke inside the mall, and I think that's a good thing.... but when you try to enter, or leave the mall, you have to make your way through a cloud of smoke/smokers. Am I the only one that is affended by this?

Here are some commercials about smoking. Take a look. They are sure to make you laugh, whether your a smoker or not.

This holiday season brings to mind last year when my only aunt (blood relative) and her hubby (let call him Uncle Herb) arrived at the family reunion empty handed. They announced that they didn't buy gifts for the rest of the family because Uncle Herb had bought auntie a new fur coat. I was miffed because they waited until the party to mention this after everyone else had already purchased their gifts for THEM. Also that it seemed so selfish that they spent their savings on themselves. I was debating on whether to even invite them to the family party this year or just instruct everyone else on to bring gifts for them. Am I being petty and over-reactive? How would you have felt? Any suggestions on what to do about them this year? Thanks in advance.

My mom watched his cat for some days while he was away, I found it really rude and messed up of him..

I was a little taken aback, hes in his 50s, married with kids,, then he gave me his business card and told me to email him, i told him i would, i went to his website, it was poorly done and just bad overall..kinda scared me because the photography was bad.

My bro came out over the summer. we're all conservative and don't like it too much. My dad's a deacon of the church. I heard these ladies sitting in a room talking about how much of a disgrace it is. one said it was tv that influenced him, another said it was his (my) family. they think my parents went wrong somewhere. I walked in and said I heard everything you're talking about. and I don't like how you're talking behind his back when he's not here to defend himself. I agree, what he does is wrong, but it's none of your business. so shut up. then walked out. now they told everyone and the church is pretty pissed @ me. my dad's pissed, mom's pissed, grandma's pissed, and the preacher's pissed. i told my bro and he's glad i stood up for him. what do you think i should do? I told my family I'm not gonna apologize, but if they want to, they know where we live. what you guys think?
