A white Christmas means that there was snow on the ground where you were. As for not wearing white after labor day, I think it's not something that you should worry about. I believe it's meant as a way to get people to wear darker tones during the winter months, so according to that you could start wearing white again whenever the weather warmed up. Really though you should just wear whatever you think looks good.

Wearing white after Labor Day is fine. It used to not be but that is old fashioned and no one follows that anymore. When they ask about a white Christmas they are asking you if there was snow on the ground.

That fashion rule is dead and gone. Now people wear white all year round. However, if you still want to follow, its "safe" (as you put it) to begin wearing it after Memorial Day.

When people refer to a "white Christmas" they mean, was there snow covering. You know, when it snows and it looks like everything has turned white, like on a Christmas postcard? That is what they're talking about.

when people say did you have a white christmas, they mean did its snow during that time ( snow is white)
you can wear white any time you like sweet heart, this myth about not wearing white on certain days were created bysuperstitious people, who think if they do certain things it will bring then bad luck, the only trouble I can see with wearing white is it gets dirty very quickly not very practical.

I think that rule is out-dated.
Oprah had fashion experts on her show a couple of weeks ago, and one of them mentioned that the no-white rule was out.
