I have that exact same problem and it makes me gag. Why on earth people let dogs stink their car out i will never know!
Basically you're gonna have to put up with it, and pass your test as soon as possible! There is no other way without coming across rude, after all they are doing you a favour!

Tell them "On the way home lets swing by the car wash! And get this whole inside detailed! My treat!" The $20 invested is way cheaper that buying your own car and way safer than taking the bus or subway. Then say "Well, I'm really allergic to dogs and I can't breathe".
When that fails you are going to have to post an ad on the community bulletin board that you are looking for a new carpool.

Can you carpool with someone else?? I'm a dog owner, but it's very rude to assume that other people dont' care if your dog's hair is all over their clothes. Maybe mention it, or ask them if they could put an old sheet in the car when you guys ride, and the dog is not with them. You're totally in the right to not want hair on your clothes or to smell stinky dog.

How old are you? If your parents have made the carpool arrangement, discuss it with your parents. If you are an adult, find another way to get there. Is there public transportation in your community?

Take the bus maybe?
Are they driving you for free and someone else is paying for the gas? In that case you could say, I don't really have any money to give you, but I would like to thank you for the ride by cleaning your car. And maybe do that every once in a while to keep it smelling a little better.
You really can't tell them to clean it.

If it bothers you that much, offer to clean it for them. You honestly should make them do it but they will be offended if you bring it up and ask them.

My opinion is, if you offer to do it as a thank you, they will be happy and allow you to do it. Then, you can clean the car to your liking and the problem is solved.

Good luck cleaning it yourself if you are allegic though. But I never said you couldn't have help or borrow the car and have someone else do it for a fee.

The only option is to carpool with someone else.

Find someone else to carpool with or take a bus.

you "can't not" carpool...so if its not optional then basically you aren't carpooling. you're catching a ride from someone nice enough to take you.

you have 3 options
1)be inconsiderate and tell them their car smells & they need to clean it.
2)walk or take a smelly cab.
3)be thankful that someone will cart you around and be quiet.
