To save gas $ and help the environment, I take the bus to work. I drive partway to the nearest bus stop and then I hop on the bus. Yesterday I did this as usual, and went to a nighttime work function. It went well & I was planning to take the bus & train back to my car & then go home. Then my coworker friend said "I don't want to see you go thru all the hassle of the bus"(but I'm used to it), I'll get my friend to give you a ride! But I already had a prepaid bus pass. I didn't want to look impolite so I went along w/ it.

I even told my friend that I didn't have any cash on me to contribute towards gas, but she said not to worry about it, that her friend was just giving me a ride to be nice. So I accepted the ride but I still felt bad that I wasn't giving a generous amount for gas(I'm too dam nice). B/c I didn't offer gas $, I felt bad having this girl drive out of her way for me. (My friend thought her friend was going the same place as me, but it turns out that wasnt quite the case

Here's your chance to get some agression out. Spit fire and get personal, whoever can manage to offend me the most will get the 'best' answer! So what do ya say to that, PUNK?

I know forgiveness is possible, but sometimes it seems almost ridiculous in extreme cases.

Am I supposed to forgive Bin Laden for his murder, Al-Zarqawi for murdering people live on camera and broadcasting it over the Internet, Hitler for killing millions?

I hear about people forgiving someone who has killed their child and I wonder if they're just saying that to be a good Christian or if they actually forgive them.

We have this new boss where i work and he's only 24. The past boss would make small talk and say hi. This guy says nothing. I'll be standing right next to him in the same isle of the store and NOTHING. He only talked to my supervisor to say ask what she was doing....because she wasn't somewhere else in the store.(she was going to be closing manager that day). And also said to her that she couldn't punch in because he changed what time she was suppose to come in but didn't tell her. He's really stuck up. And won't tell us things until last minute. Right now we're seeing how long he's going to stay here like the last one(she stayed like 2-3 weeks). And she said hi.

I got one today for using the term "black people" in a response to a question. Apparently someone thinks that is derogatory.

Long story short, I have a new job/boss (same company). But, because I've needed to train my replacement for my old role, I'm still somewhat "managed" by my old bosses. Though the process has taken longer than I've wanted and thought it would, I've been totally cool, patient, pleasant to work with, etc. I mean, I've gone above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of, for when I officially move into my new role... So, here's my dilemma. They haven't been very nice to me, at all, since I've put in my notice. Off/on they've walked all over me. I honestly feel like they don't want me to leave on a good note or something, because the way they treat me is totally different then before, and for no reason. Most recently, one of them, tried to make me look bad in front of my new boss. Again, for something I didn't say nor do. I guess I just REALLY need advice on how to handle this difficult boss/situation, so I don't leave a poor impression on my new boss.

What is so hard about reading "10 Items or Less" or "20 Items or Less" signs at the Express lanes at Wal-Mart? Do they just not care or are they selfish or what?

I think she needs to step down. A picture with her boyfriend chewing on her breasts is not cool! Bet she's gone. So what if she has clothes on. Want some guy chewing on your daughters breast in public? Not a good role model!

I attended this interview. The interview was BAD. All my answers sucked!
I am an artist. The interviewer did appreciate a few ideas. He also asked me to leave my CD and asked me to get back to him 3 days later. When I called him 3 days later, he asked me to SMS my number and postponed it indefinitely. It's been a week since that. The CD is still with him

The company is BIG and the guy is a hot shot. But am I really wasting my time....considering he still hasn't called me or shall I be positive..considering he could have refused it a week ago, if it really was THAT BAD?

What's your experience/take on this?

Not that I have a problem with it, it is funny after all, but someone asked me about it and I didn't know so I thought I'd turn it over to 'ma peeps' at Yahoo answers. So what's the deal?

In the military it is considered courtesy to stand up if you're seated at a table and a more senior person to you stands up or sits down at the table. The same is typically done when a woman sits down or stands from the table as well. What is the history behind this? Thanks.

This morning my very rude and self centred next door neighbours decided to cut firewood with an EXTREMELY loud chainsaw (it's winter in New Zealand where I live) at 7am!

The noise was very loud because they were cutting it outside my bedroom window.

So I got up, when to the fence and I said "Excuse me, you're being extremely inconsiderate."

The man had no idea what I was talking about

I said "Do you really think it's appropriate to be cutting firewood with a chainsaw at 7am in the morning?".

He replied saying they'd run out of firewood. I believe this was an ridiculous excuse.

I asked him if he was going to stop now as he was probably waking our neighbours and my brother with the flu.

He replied f*ck off. My final words were "Will you be saying the same thing when I've called noise control?"

He stopped after 10minutes. This isn't the first time their noise level has been inappropriate for the time of day.

I didn't call noise control. Did I act appropriatly?
