This guy at work (who I considered to be quite a good friend) has invited practically everyone at work (including my boyfriend) to his wedding except me! It’s very weird as my team, and in fact everyone on my floor, is going.

I asked the guy where my invitation was and he just said “Sorry I can’t invite everyone”. Yet he has invited people he hardly knows.

I work with my boyfriend and he really wants to go but says he will pull out on principle if I want him to.

Is it selfish of me to stop my boyfriend going? We had planned to spend that weekend together.

A family friend's son just received their Eagle Scot award. The ceremony is coming up soon and my husband and I will be unable to attend. Is it traditional to give them a gift of some sorts? What were some gifts or ideas that people had for the recipient?

My parents and I disagree about the proper etiquette for planning a housewarming party. I am a single woman that just purchased a house on my own. I started a registry of items for a housewarming party (which is a legit category of registries at all houseware stores. Check any website). My parents said that someone else is supposed to plan the party. How could someone else plan a party at my own house??! A housewarming is supposed to be a way of saying "Welcome to my home...come see it!" Also, how should the invitations be worded? Normally registries are for married couples. Can I just put "Registered at Linens N Things"? at the bottom?

I went to work and found the boss was going to be out all day. So i took the day off and went home. Then I found him making love to my wife. Was it best not to go in as he would have found out I had taken the day off work without asking.

I am a receptionist so I deal with people all day. I answer the phone and this guy by the name of Scott says "Hi this is Scot I was in there the other day and met you, do you remember me?" then just repeats himself. Its happened a few times in the last two months. There are other women in the office but this guy never does this to them. Okay this is the really strange part. My husband's name is Scott. Is this a coinicdence or has he looked me up on line and is trying to scare me? What should I do? Should I be concerned?

A girl I know who is a hairstylist got a job at a salon. I don't know the owner, I do know another girl that works there. The girl that got the job burned my friends head and made her hair fall out. She mixes color with water to make the color lighter (thats stupid, you just use a lighter color, I am a hair stylist as well) After she quit where we worked together anyone who was dumb enough to let her cut their hair came to me to fix it. All their hair was a hot mess, nothing was even, a lot of the women had ended up with mullets. My question is, is it my business to make sure the owner of the new salon knows the things she does? Should I just let it go and let them find out for theirself? I really am worried that there will be a lawsuit. If I was in the owner's shoes I would want to know.

I just got news that one of my roommates won't be in the dorm living on campus, There were 4 of us, now 3, I don't know if campus housing has put another kid in the room.

I'm debating on whether to get my fam to leave real earlier when move in day comes, so that I can hopefully stake out a single room.
Should I try it? Or should I call res life and see what's up, see what they are going to do?

Also should I contact the other 2 guys to see what they are bring, if anything, so none of us are bringing double things, or not enough?

I was very close friends with a woman for three years, we never had a "falling out" persay but she essentually dropped me as a friend around the time she met her current fiancee. The way it happened leads me to believe that I did something wrong but she has never told me what it was. I've tried to contact her several times to meet up for drinks but she has never returned my calls or my emails. Today, I got her invitation to her wedding that will happen on 8/1/2007 (It sounds as though I'm being invited to the reception not the ceremony). So now I'm faced with three questions:
1- Do I have to go? she's extremely catty and I believe is doing this to try and manipulate me some how but I don't know how and really don't much care.

2- Do I have to buy her a gift and if so can I just send a, as in one, fork? or would that be too obvious?

3- Finally, since she obviously wont return my calls or emails and neither will her friends how the %$#@ am I supposed to know where she's registered?

I am going to a wedding where the dress is semi-formal, as stated on the invitation. It is in another state and all family are going so I have no one to watch my 2 boys so they are coming with. There will be a nanny at the country club where both ceremony and reception are. The nanny will watch the boys during the ceremony and during dinner, but the kids will come to the reception after dinner is done. Normally semi-formal would be a suit and tie, but that does that hold true for kids as well? They are 7 1/2 and 5 years old. I hate to have to buy them suits to wear for a couple of hours only, but don't want to break any rules or anything. They don't have a suit so I would have to buy them one just for this occasion. Are kids held to the same dress code as adults? I wouldn't dress them in jeans or anything-maybe just some slacks and nice shirt. Or do they have to have strictly adhere to the dress code and wear suits?

Tried being nice, bringing it to them, complaining to management to no avail, calling the cops(hate doing that)TRIED EVERYTHING.I do not need a "take the high road speech"Don't waste your time and mine, please. They walk around in wooden clogs or something, blast their music, argue, they are the loudest people on Earth.I want a SOPHISTICATED AND INCONSPICUOUS method to get their asses. No flaming poo,no eggs or car damage. That's juvenile---I NEED SOMETHING SWEET!I don't have their phone number or first name to sign them up for anything either....MUCH appreciated.

I am partially deaf and work in an office. I often miss out on what's going on around the office as I don't hear what's going on. I have mentioned this to my manager as well as HR - this is important work related issues as well as social events - but we've not been able to come up with a solution. Unless someone specifically comes up and mentions it to me, if I've got my head down, I don't hear.

Does anyone else have this problem and if so, how do they deal with it?

Thanks

I have worked at my job for 4 years. There is a lady retiring here and there is a party on Thursday evening after work. We are not friends. Just co-workers. The other part is that the location of the party is 45 minutes from my house. Would it be okay to just give her a card and a small gift? What is the ediquette for attending a party like this?

cheap. You go to Starbuck, buy a cup of coffee that cost an arm and a leg, and then you are supposed to put up more in that little mason jar!
When will it end?
