I know forgiveness is possible, but sometimes it seems almost ridiculous in extreme cases.

Am I supposed to forgive Bin Laden for his murder, Al-Zarqawi for murdering people live on camera and broadcasting it over the Internet, Hitler for killing millions?

I hear about people forgiving someone who has killed their child and I wonder if they're just saying that to be a good Christian or if they actually forgive them.

If we follow the example of Christ, we will forgive. Forgetting is another matter. We might truly forgive one for stealing our wallet, but at the same time make sure they never get another opportunity.

I think forgiveness, is about not letting someone else's actions run your life. If you don't forgive someone they have a certain power over you. You are always angry because of what they did, and they are living their lives freely. So you have to forgive people, so that you can move forward in life. Just because you forgive doesn't mean you will forget.

you don't have to forgive bin ladden, he's made no attempt to repent. you don't have to forgive anyone for that matter, but all forgiveness is is letting go of the anger and hatred you feel against somone who has done you wrong. it's not good for you to carry all that around, it's a pretty heavy burden. i think it's good for the spirit to forgive, but forgiving does not mean forgetting and it does not mean trusting the person again.

Some things are forgivable.... but yet other things are not! Depends on what someone did and how it affected the ones you love.

You can always forgive - but to forget would mean that you have amnesia.
