yeah, i got a violation notice yesterday cause of the same thing... i had a genuine question and it was not racist at all.... all i asked was "how come black people can refer to white people as "crackers, honkey', hillbilly etc," but when you even notice a balck person, its a huge deal?" i guess casue the term "black people" isnt politically correct...... but i see them refering to us as "whites" not even "whtie people" just whites, and it seems to be ok for them to do that...... i asked yahoo what i was in violation of and they would not give me details to why... all they would say is that i violated their terms... i think if they are gonna do that, they should at least tell you what you are in violation of.

Did you lose points for getting a violation notice? I'm relatively new to this, and so far haven't offended anyone enough yet to report me, but since I am new to this and I am breathing, I am sure I will upset someone, somewhere, somehow. I have to admit, most of these are silly.......like the underpants one.....would it have been okay if you said kewl instead of disgusting? and lunch?! How is asking for lunch suggestions a violation? The National Society ot End Eating of Midday Meals of America up in arms?

It's hard for me to pick one out of the many that I have received. I recently got one for suggesting in an answer that some top contributors might have multiple ID's and vote for themselves. Yahoo doesn't have any oversite on this so the best thing you can do is just laugh at their ignorance. Maybe the next time you should use "colored". You know, like the National Association for Advancement of Colored People does.

I got a question removed for asking if anyone had pictures of a satellite dish with cross polarization.
I also got one removed for inquiring about a Compaq Armada and a Modem Card locking it up.
I got an answer removed because I disagreed with the answerer.
Most were really ridiculous actually.

I got one for informing a user that posting the same question four times in the same category in a 45 minute period was a violation of Y!A's Community Guidelines (it is, see #20 of the "DON'Ts"). I wasn't rude, didn't use profanity, I just simply informed her of it. She flagged it for abuse and Y!A actually upheld it.
I replied to their violation email (as they say to do if you disagree with it) and told them I could not find where my answer violated their Community Guidelines or Terms of Service and to please return my points and re-post my answer. I also asked them why I didn't violate anything and got busted but she obviously did and was not busted (her question is still there). They'll never reply, of course, they never do.

I got violations for questions i asked about some movies. One was the Black Dahlia and the other one was Barnyard.
I asked why they didn't put more about the actual person whom was the Black Dahlia and if anyone cried while watching Barnyard.
What the heck?!

i got one when this girl wrote she wore no underwear and bent over, i told her she was disgusting! apparently disgusting is a derogitory word.
YA is always siding with the flaggers, mostly people who ask for advice yet arent happy about all aspects of advice.
