I remind my significant others to tell me they love me on a regular basis! that way when I die they will not have to cry and feel sad! In my "will" I will include the following instructions to the Funeral Home: I want my awake to open casket (for viewing) I want continuous showings of the Musical "CHICAGO", I want Hooters Waitreses to serve buffalo wings with a choice of 3 beverages (beer, ice tea, or diet 7-up), I want everyone dress like they are going to a joyous occasion, (like a party!) I want the ladies to dress in short skirts and tight dresses! Everyone will be required to laugh and smile! And Last but Not Least; if anyone cries or begins to cry they are to be immediately be escorted out the front door! Do you believe the instructions that I will leave to the Funeral Home violates and cannons or standards of "Good Taste" "Etiquette" or "Good Judgment"?

I am having an openhouse/ housewarming party today and wanted to know the proper etiquette for opening gifts. We said no gifts on the invitations, but if someone does bring something, should I wait until after the party to open it, or should I open it as they are coming in the door?

Also, if I receive a bottle of wine, do I open it to share with everyone?

Thanks

I'm sick and tired of receiving calls from people or businesses who don't want to display either their phone numbers or their names, and where I live I don't have the capability of blocking such unwanted calls.

The caller (as the intruder) is the one who bears the responsibility of disclosing who he/she is and who they represent, and to want to hide their identity is to be callous and cowardly, and that most definitely include businesses who should be more than willing to identify themselves if for no other reason, in order to stay in business.

Those who want to block their identity are cowards who do not deserve my time or consideration, and are NOT welcome to call me.

Ever since I put the shock collar on her, she won't stop complaining. It got annoying, so I upped the voltage but she still won't shut up.

I'm walking down a crowded city street. Walking toward me was a young 20ish man. He looked me in the eye as we walked toward each other and said "Yummy" and then kept walking. How should I have reacted?

I am a valued customer at Humpty's family restaurant, I go there often to do my homework and I spend hours there drinking and eating. But because my boyfriend works there the owner doesn't want me there because of distractions. I don't even talk to him, I treat him like any other server and my purpose there is to get my work done. What do I do in this situation?

then u all can judge as much as u like:
1) she burnt my b'tiful top
2)she makes rice as if it were some sort of a paste
3)she cleaned my table with the drity sweeping cloth
4)she has a distinct habit of throwing things away---she simply threw all the short pencils that i use for my compass a day before my exams
5)she threw away my form of a competition thinking it was 'just a paper'
6)that woman bleached my bag
7)she makes excuses n disturbs me when i am studying
8)she put 1 KG of salt in rasna3
9)she bleached my bag
10)she i dunno how hears EVERYTHING opposite

and these are ONLY SOME of the idiocies she has done
am i expected to fawn her? and praise her for her good deed?
for the 'excellent' food she has been making?

I must say that I hate that. I wait politely in a queue and then along comes some smart a** who thinks they can go straight to the front ignoring all the other people standing there. I just have to let them know and tell them to go to the back. But I'm surprised how many people just let them get away with it. I know it's petty but we all have schedules andbusy lives and if we allowed this all day we'd never get things done.

im 15
people in inda would understand my prob well coz of same culture: my housekeeper left her job and i am being blamed for rudeness to her, making her run about on errands and sneering at her for not doing her work properly

note for non indians (so that u can understand the situation better): housekeepers in our country are illiterate and mine is brainless too

i think she left coz it was her chidren's hols and these ppl once they get some money, stop working, she took to many hols at it is, and made excuses, did work HORRIBLY

my question : WHAT sould i do, HOW should i behave with my housemaids NEXT time...

they have every freedom in my house :
dishwashers, washing mach, ovens, electric sewing mach. are already there to do half the work for them, other servats are there too, food, generosity in a family of four---AND THEN TOO!

I have seen people spend sixty or eighty dollars on a meal and leave the server only 5$ or less and talk about how great the service and the food was. Should restaurants have to post a sign?? if you have money to go out and eat I believe people should be able to tip appropiately. If the servece sucks then tip accordingly of course, but i rarely have ever had service so terrible that i did not tip 15%.

Lately (it's spring), I've seen more people passing out flyers on campus. I dislike solicitors, and even if I'm interested in the product/message I ignore them. I like to think it discourages solicitors from being a nuisance.

How do you deal with solicitors? Is it polite or acceptable to ignore them?

Sorry if it sounds weird, but it’s a serious question

I sometimes notice that the women who wear clothing that shows their stomach get upset when guys look (not stare) at their belly button and stomach. Why do the women dress like that if they don't feel comfortable when men look at their belly button? Also, why do a lot of ladies get their belly buttons pierced? And why do they do it if they don't want men to look at it? And would it be OK if a man made a complement to a woman that her belly button or her belly button ring looks nice? (I never made a complement like this, but just asking)

I know this is a very weird question, sorry if it sounds awkward; I really don’t mean anything bad, just curious.
Thanks

it's silly but i'm trying to teach my son manners and my husband, the idiot he is, says if he has to burp he should excuse himself from the table and go into another room and burp. like a 4 year old can accomplish this at every meal.
i say he should quietly burp while covering his mouth.
who's right?
wait.....is this miss manners? haha!
thanks.

For a example if you see someone verbally abusing someone in a customer service position for no reason I think we should confront them and call them out. I was a at coffee shop today and this yuppie scum was verbally abusing the poor girl because she didn't put enough foam in his latte. I put bass in my voice and told him it is NOT acceptable to talk to her like that. At which point he apologised got his coffee and left. a girl in line thanked me for doing that and the poor girl working their looked so relieved. Whose with me about confronting jerks like this when your out and about? Getting a problem solved respectfully is one thing, being a abusive jerk is another.
