I will be going on towards my BSN but, since this is the first step I would like to celebrate it. (Just so TheDiciple knows) :-)

Whew! One step up on the ladder to an education! I graduated from ...on May 28th. Come and help me celebrate! My house, June 5th at..
It would be cute to have somekind of a stepladder, if you have room, wrap the steps in paper, put on step one, JC, and a graduation mortarboard, step 2, Bachelor's degree, step 3, the world is my oyster, or I like the view from up here!! Or whatever you can think up.
Hey, don't let the 1st answer drag you down, there are lots of educational snobs out there. I graduated twice from JC, once with an Assoc. in general Science, the 2nd time from nurses school. I hold the same state license the BSN's do.

Ignore the idiot above - announce it as a graduation party- or first step to a better life party - but celebrate it -as it is an accomplishment to build other accomplishments on and with

I agree with Atlasa's suggestion. You don't need a long elaborate announcement. It's just a celebration party. Just give details and ask them to RSVP.
Congrats on your accomplishment!

I'm not going to offer a wording suggestion - there are a couple excellent ones above. I just wanted to say congratulations on a job well done. You have much to celebrate.

Further - Whoa... I can't believe TheDiciple guy is talking smack about the fact that you're receiving your associates degree. Man, that's just poor form. And in the event that he's wondering - I finished my M.S. when I was 22.

I would just say something like this:

Dear friend,

I am graduating from ____College on May 12th. To celebrate I am having a party at my home at 8 PM, and hope for you to attend. Directions are.....RSVP to.....

Nothing more is required. Congrats!

your having a party because you got an ASSOCIATES degree? LOL. Getting an associates is like graduating kindergarten.LOL. You should write "Hi im having a party because im not smart enough to get a real degree" .... To get an associates nowadays all u do is write 5 papers, and take a few open book tests.... or do a take home study program.... seriously get a real degree and dont do it online...those are a joke
