I am a valued customer at Humpty's family restaurant, I go there often to do my homework and I spend hours there drinking and eating. But because my boyfriend works there the owner doesn't want me there because of distractions. I don't even talk to him, I treat him like any other server and my purpose there is to get my work done. What do I do in this situation?

He's the owner, and he is looking out for the best interest of his business, either you cut your time there to 30 min or 1 hour, or your boyfriend will lose his job..

The restaurant owner has the right to refuse service to anyone so long as he doesn't discriminate against you illegally. You have no right to sit there for 'hours' doing your homework.. that's what your house is for! Guzzling free refills does not make you a 'valued customer' either... 'waste of a table' is more like it!

Don't hang around your boyfriend at work or he won't have a job for long!

If the owner would not want you there, you need to no longer circulate there. eating places at the instant are not for interpreting, they are for ingesting. additionally, I doubt which you're spending as lots funds on nutrients and drink as different purchasers who in simple terms come for a meal and go away. Are you spending $30 an hour at this eating place? that's what they may well be making in the journey that your table have been availible. I recommend you hit upon someplace else to examine.

Unfortunately for you, the owner does have the right to request that you not frequent his restaurant.

You would be wise to find another place to hang out and study...maybe a Starbucks. It actually could jeopardize your boyfriend's job.

If you really go there for the food, just make sure you only go at times your boyfriend is off-shift. Then there shouldn't be any problems.

sweetie, do your homework while he is at work..and then meet up with him after he gets off...yes the owner has every right to refuse service to anyone.......do not spend every minute of the day with you bf either for this gets a little old over time and the time that you do spend together will not be viewed as special....space is the key to a great relationship...

Do you really spend "hours & hours" eating and drinking there? thats really bad for your health if you do wich I am sure you dont. restraunts have the right to refuse anybody service. its thier business. The owners job is to protect his buisness. You need to find another healthier place to study. Nobody needs to spen that much time with a b/f - G/F

I would cut your time to 30 minutes or an hour, you are using up a table that other customers could be using.
